Q:What is 12 gage Cold Rolled Steel?
It's gauge.
Q:Can a bear bend steel?
depends how thick the steel is. Looking at it, I would say yes. Not the frame pieces, but just the walls of the pool.
Q:which sounds better, nylon or steel string?
it all depends nylon is faster, and brighter than steel, but is available only on acoustic as coil pickups won't detect them(only peizo will). That is one reason. Another is price, you tend to replace the nylon more often as it is weaker, and less resistant to corrision. EVEN THOUGH strings have a larger price range, and be cheaper than steel, or considerably more expensive. overall the nylon is brighter, but quite-er. Steel is louder, but deeper. nylon doesn't get feedback as easily, and is amazingly fast and easy to play. some think nylon sounds old fashoined(it looks it too, with an open headstock, ond classical look(sometimes mistaken as another name for it). MY SUGGESTION- visit your local music shop and try out steel, and nylons to in person get a feel for the sound.(remember that you get what you pay for, go as high in price as you can reasonably afford) ALWAYS TRY BEFORE YOU BUY, PLAY BOTH TYPES IN THE SAME RANGE OF PRICE(at least $400), THEN DECIDE WHAT SOUNDS BETTER TO YOU(and of course feels better and easier to play).
Q:working load of steel anchor ?
Assuming that the chain can take the breaking load of the plate, the plate will fail at the area between the hole and the end, in double shear. The shear strength of the material should therefore be known for us to be able to calculate the breaking force. Approximately, the shear strength of steel is about 60% of the tensile strength. For ordinary mild steel the tensile strength is about 60,000 psi, not 38,000 psi. 38,000 psi is just about the yield point of mild steel. Using 60,000 psi tensile strength, the approximate shear strength of steel therefore is 36.000 psi. The net area between the hole and the end of the plate is: A = 3/16(3/4 - 1/4) = 0.09375 in^2 The force necessary to rip through the area which is also the tension on the chain is: T = 2 x 0.09375 x 36,000 = 6750 lbs
Q:Steel pipe info please...?
Here are a few quick things for you to check into on your own. First, there are a wide variety of materials that pipes can be made from such as carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc. Second, pipes can be of welded construction or seamless. Sometimes seamless pipes are called DOM (drawn over mandrel). Third, with the types of each pipe are a variety of grades. For example, steel pipe can be listed as A53, A106, A500, A513, etc. Each one of these grades has a different application because of their chemical composition and method of manufacture which effects its strength. Fourth, there is a difference between a 4 pipe and a 4 tube. Last, pipes for fluids are typically threaded with NPT threads. These threads are tapered so that as the pipes are screwed together they become tighter and therefore leak proof. I probably over complicated things but I hope this helped you. Good luck.
Q:What is so special about Japanese steel?
Well Japan, with democracy and code standards, would be better than China or Mexico, with poorly paid workers and poor standards and poor quality. I don't know why or if its better quality than US steel
Q:How did the planes break the steel?
1 nothing is unbreakable! 2 it is a question of velocity not that the plane was going very fast but! the difference between an explosion and a detonation is if the flame front is faster or slower than 1000 meter per second If you burn Hydrogen it burns fast, more than 1000 meter per second at that speed a plastic pen like those you use every day will puncture through a steel 2X4 used in modern building walls it is not thick steel but it is still steel! and the plastic piece is hardly deformed Those talking about aviation fuel... this is long, very long after the fact Guru
Q:what kind of steel is my kabar made of?
I would get a 1095, serrated edge, tanto style, with either a good quality rubberized or bone handle.
Q:Wolf steel cased .223 for mini 14???
I have used wolf steel cased ammunition as well when I borrowed my friend's AR-15. It's good ammunition and I personally have not experienced a stovepipe or a jam with the ammunition. A Mini 14 is a great .223 civilian rifle made by Ruger and should not jam with the ammunition. If the polymer coating really is a problem sometimes, just don't use it with knockoff AR-15s or Mini-14s but stick with the major manufacturers.
Q:What are the brands that sell 100% stainless steel cookware(interior and exterior)?
You do not want 100% stainless steel cookware, because it's a poor conductor of heat. All high quality stainless cookware is layered with stainless steel only on the exterior and interior surfaces, while having at least an internal heat spreading core of aluminum or copper. Not all stainless steel is sufficiently ferrous (magnetic) to work with electric inductive cooktops, so some stainless cookware adds an additional layer of ferrous steel in addition to the thermal cores. You also wouldn't want a slow cooker that's 100% stainless steel, because the uneven heating would cause food to burn more quickly. They are usually made of ceramic stoneware for a reason, even heating. Besides, a stainless pressure cooker (with alum/copper) core can in less than an hour everything a slow cooker does in 3+ hours, with better flavor, color, and nutritional content. By the way, the Prestige stainless cookware isn't 100% stainless, of course, and that's a GOOD thing.
