Q: We have tiled around our jetted tub about halfway up the wall and the top and around the edges does not look finished. Do we add trim there or something else?: Bullnose tile if your tile has it available, not all tiles do.. If it doesn t, there are some decorative tiles that can be used. If not there are metal and plastic edging made for this purpose. Several types but one of the most common is the Schulter edging available at all tile places and the big box stores. GL

Q: I have a very outdated bathroom with pink tile covering just about every wall. I love to do DIY projects but can‘t afford to replace the tile. I can however afford to paint it. I read up on it and found the paint directions but don‘t want the end result to look tacky. Has anyone done this and liked the results?: I had probably the same tile in my bathroom. It was half way up all walls and around the tub.. When I moved in (5 years ago), I cleaned, primed with original Kilz, and painted 2 coats of Zinsser Perma White paint in a satin finish. After 5 years and at least 3-5 showers a day, I have had to touch up a couple spots. You can definately tell it has been painted with a brush and roller, I think it looks a lot less tacky than pink tiles.

Q: The tile is blue and white and are each about 3x3 inches wide?Can you lay new tile over the top or paint it?: Using TSP (trisodiumphosphate), thoroughly clean the tile surface. The TSP will clean and degrease the tiles. At Home Depot there is paint that you can buy that is designed specifically for painting over ceramic tile. I've used it and it does work, but make sure you open some windows and have some cross ventilation going as it smells very strong and the fumes can cause problems. It is supposed to be self leveling, but being as you are working on a vertical surface, it's best to use thin coats of the paint. If you use any other type of paint, it will come off when you go to clean it.

Q: Looking for full size Hexagon quarry tile in 6 inch, 8 inch or 10 inch overage size. Not the little pieces that are grouped together.: you may actually be able to find them on OKorder....

Q: Can you put linoleum over tile?: NO!, u can not lay linoleum over tile..it requires a flat smooth surface to bond to.......if ceramic tile just clean them, many products at lowes that will do it,.......if stick on tile just apply new stick on tile but off set the joints from the old ones! lic. gen contractor

Q: looikng to get a large hall way and medium kitchen floor done been quoted 1100 with fitting for a good quality laminate tile effect would actual tiles be much more or maybe even less due to the undlay needed with a laminate?: Actual tile will cost less ( than that of a good laminate) but the tile labor is double ( +-) that of laminate installation.Plus the prep materials needed for ceramic is triple ( or more ) than just the plain under layment of laminate. So on the average tile and laminate installation the tile is about double that of laminate by the time you get all materials and labor. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL

Q: How to look at the quality of tiles: Not a professional to buy tiles, as long as the attention of tiles glazed light, flat, slippery, delicate, color should be clear, the pattern should be uniform, percussion to crisp (cooked), the size to be consistent. I see that Bacheng is a good tiles.
