Q: Well I was thinking about the idea of renovating either a smaller school bus or building a tiny house and I was wondering if i can get some information on the size and watts panel should I use or more like how to get that whole solar energy in motion. Any infor and links would help
I think that typical solar panels are 2'x4' and produce something like 800-000 wh per day. (That's 0.8 - kwh per day.) More in the summer, less in the winter, if they're aimed sort of at the sun. There are newer, more expensive panels that produce more. There are also thin film panels that are less expensive, and probably more sturdy. You then have a couple choices. In a house, you'd have an expensive inverter to connect to the utility power, so you can have power at night when your panels aren't generating anything. In a trailer, you want 2-4-6 deep cycle car batteries to store the power. Then you could have an inverter to convert that power to 20v AC, so you could use normal appliances. Or, you could buy appliances that run on 2 volts DC. Maybe a combination of both. You'll need to figure out how much power you're going to use, so you know how many panels and batteries you're going to need. The calculation is easy. Figuring out how much power you need is hard. You need deep cycle batteries because you can repeatedly charge them way up and run them way down. Ordinary batteries die fairly quickly when you do that.
Q: Are there any maintenance requirements for solar panels?
Yes, solar panels do have maintenance requirements. While they are generally low maintenance, they need to be kept clean and free from debris to ensure optimal performance. Periodic inspections for any damage or shading issues are also recommended. Additionally, the electrical connections and inverters may require occasional maintenance or servicing.
Q: Can I fet free solar panels. This site okorder sells a book that tells how to, but I ordered tha book more then a year a go, and in never came. I even sent them a email a day for more then 3 months and never heard back from them. If anyone knows how to get free pannels, please let me know how. A $300.00 a month bill is slowly killing me.
Do not touch free solar panels with a barge pole. The installer keeps the feed-in tariff and owns the panels on your roof, a problem when you come to sell the house. Your only benefit is the free use of the electricity generated, if you happen to be in, or use time clocks, on dish washer, washing machine etc. My system has a target of 6 kWh per day. At 43.3p per unit this is a theoretical payment of ?6.92 a day. All you could gain, assuming you use every available kWh generated, would be ?.92, assuming a tariff of 2 p per kWh. The feed-in tariff goes down for new installations next April. In my opinion its a good buy, and should show an 8% return on our investment. I would not like to give the main benefit to someone else.
Q: I know absolutely nothing about electronics but have a lot of money. I am thinking of buying the Sunforce 3730 30W monocrystalline solar panel (the best I could find that was that size or smaller). What would be a good battery to go with it? I am thinking of buying a 2V Concorde Sun Xtender (again, the best I could find). But how many batteries will I need? I want enough batteries that it would take the solar panel 2 days to completely charge them from empty (bearing in mind the unavoidable inefficiencies like cloudiness/changing sun angles). Also, what other stuff would I need, like I hear something about a quot;charge controllerquot;? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
How many batteries you will need depends on what you are planning to do with them which you did not mention? Sunforce makes a 30 amp charge controller part no. 60033
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a library or educational institution?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a library or educational institution. In fact, many libraries and educational institutions are increasingly adopting solar energy systems to reduce their carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and promote renewable energy education. Installing solar panels on rooftops or open spaces of these buildings can provide clean and sustainable electricity, benefiting both the institution and the environment.
Q: Composition and function of solar panels
Used to bond fixed tempered glass and power generation (battery), transparent EVA material directly affect the quality of the component life, exposure to the air in the EVA easily aging yellow, thus affecting the component's light transmittance, thus affecting the components
Q: Can solar panels be used for powering a theme park or amusement park?
Yes, solar panels can definitely be used for powering a theme park or amusement park. Solar energy is a clean and renewable source of power that can effectively generate electricity for various operations within a park, such as lighting, rides, and even water heating systems. By utilizing solar panels, theme parks can significantly reduce their reliance on traditional fossil fuels, lower their carbon footprint, and contribute to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly operation.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a tennis court or sports complex?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a tennis court or sports complex. The large open spaces and flat rooftops typically found in these areas make them suitable for solar panel installation. This can help generate clean and renewable energy while also reducing the electricity costs of the facility.
Q: i've heard that solar panel batteries have to be replaced withen 5-0 years. how much do solar panel batteries cost? please include sources!
Depends on how big a battery you want and what technology. A lot of people use lead-acid batteries (rather like car batteries) and they do need replacing and 5 to 0 years isn't a bad estimate. However, the lead and lead salts content can easily be recycled into new batteries so its not as bad as it may seem.
Q: Can solar panels be used to power a water pump?
Yes, solar panels can be used to power a water pump. Solar panels generate electricity from sunlight, which can be used to power various devices and appliances, including water pumps. This allows for a sustainable and environmentally friendly way of pumping water, especially in remote or off-grid locations where access to electricity may be limited.
