Q: I am a GCSE Art student and currently working on a still life based on chairs. For my coursework, I need to include an artist reference that relates to my still life. What artists have used chairs or furniture as a theme in their work, or in a series of pieces?
Hi! okorder /
Q: I have only stumbled across gliders which I don't like because all of them seem to develop some sort of squeak and they're more expensive. I just want a simple rocking chair and I can't seem to find one.
Lowe's had several for sale. Cracker barrel sells them as well. Best of luck.
Q: I'm looking for a cute, fun vintage desk chair. I really like floral and my walls are pale yellow. Also one that I can buy in Canada. My budget is $100. Thanks
Heres okorder classifieds... Garage sale Good luck and I hope I could help!
Q: Anyone else does this? After about 10-15 minutes of sitting on a chair, I notice my butt is right on the edge, so I have to stand up and sit again properly. Getting very annoying.
most likely cuz your original 'sit' is not proper...you are suppose to sit with your tailbone against the back of the chair, not on the seat of the chair...most of us sit with the tailbone on the seat cuz we'll feel foolish to sit like a 2y/o with our feet up in the air since the cushion's depth fits a 6'8 male thigh...once you sit with your tailbone on the seat, your upper trunk posturing is actually behind the line of gravity...so then our shoulders blades start slowly adding more pressure, therefore more pressure curvature to the lower spine, gravity starts to slowly pull you down until your almost anything but falling off the seat...sit upright, like your mom bopped you on the head for a million one times..in those real deep chairs, ya need an extra cushion behind you until manufacturers start getting sued over their dysfunctional setup of chairs sofas...we think we're comfortable there, but it ruins everyone's back...car seats are not an exception either....
Q: ok i know that the blood they cut themselves or something and stuff but what about getting hit with the chairis the chair fake or something?
i dont know where the first answer got her info saying the chairs are mad of plastic they are 100% metal but sometimes they are cemicalrized to make it thinner but they really are just metal chairs wrestling over exaggerate a bit by calling them steel chairs when ther actually metal
Q: Hello! My family's Corgi, Cowboy, has gotten to the point now where he is unable to walk. He slides around, but I think the discomfort of moving has caused him to become more and more stationary which just causes him to be still when he does eventually move. For a long time we used acupuncture which helped A LOT, but now his 6 session plan has ended and we are looking into other options. I would really like to get him a wheel chair since his front legs work great. Store bough wheel chairs are absurdly expensive, so I've decided to construct one myself! So! Does anyone have a site they can link to me on how to make a dog wheel chair? I am mainly looking for one that uses PVC pipes because they seem easy and inexpensive. I also need the materials to be fairly common and easy to find in a store like Fleet Farm or Menards. Thank you so much!Oh, and just because he's adorable I posted his picture so enjoy! :)
I had a paralyzed dog, she lived for a year in a kiddie pool in out dining room where she was still part of the family. We would put a scarf around her middle to take her out for exercise and mental stimulation. Unfortunately she had recurring urinary tract infections we could not cure and she died a year after becoming paralyzed, but she had a happy pain-free life with lots of attention until that time. Best of luck with your corgi, he's a cutie with a great smile. ;-)
Q: I'm not really good at physics and if someone can explain me this with easy words, would be great. As you sit on a chair, does the chair an upward force against your butt? how much force does it exert? In what direction?
actually yes and no. the force of the chair is a resistance force. is a resistance force because gravity is pulling the person down however the chair stop him from going all the way down. an example of a such thing is a sheet of paper and a book. hold both the book and the paper and let go of them at the same time. you'll notice that the book would reach the ground first. here the resistant force is the air because the book is heavy air cant stopped it or slow it down. however the paper is much lighter so it can slow it down. an upward force means that it's pushing up instead of just resisting.
Q: “I may call a chair, ‘a chair’ and someone may call it ‘a bed.’ Who can say who is right? We’re both right.” What’s wrong with this claim? What’s right about the claim?I really dont understand what could be wrong or right about the claim...if you could help me understand it that would be great! Maybe some of examples of philosophers that could help me understand this claim like Kant i guess. im not to clear on all this. Thanks in advance!
Part of the stupidity of our times is the demanding of impossible absolutes without context and then claiming it proves no absolutes are possible. The sound to express a concept (like chair) is arbitrary within the totality of all sounds, but is not arbitrary within the context of a pre-established language. In another language maybe bed is a reference for what is a chair in English, but chair is the correct reference within English. If the majority of references were not largely known in a language then communication as we know it would be impossible. Part of arcana mystery of post modernism is the drive to claim arbitrariness everywhere without addressing the fact that we actually communicate. Shakespeare long ago defeated post modernism by uttering rose by any another name... which means the reality of the reference comes before the word(Amazing some post moderns think this line supports them, but they're wrong). The sound of a concept is arbitrary, but not within a historical language. The meaning of a concept is not arbitrary since it references a thing. While the expression of that concept is universally arbritrary, it is a contextually absolute in the language it's uttered in.
