Q:I am thinking about going with Virgin Mobile. I would have to use a Virgin Mobile USA plan, but all of their phone aren't that great. I was looking at Virgin Mobile Canada's phones and I really would like to get the iPhone 5, which is only available in Canada. Basically what I'm trying to ask is, can I buy the iPhone 5 from Virgin Mobile Canada but activate it in the USA? Thanks in advance!
Can I buy a Virgin Mobile Canada phone but activate it in the USA? No. First off the ESN for the Virgin Mobile Canada phones will not register with the system for Virgin Mobile USA. Second, aside from the LG 230 Simple Flip (a flip phone with a camera), all Virgin Mobile Canada phones offered at present time are HSPA+ type phones which are wholly incompatible with the CDMA WiMAx, and LTE currently used by Virgin Mobile USA.
Q:How does a mobile come to know that which operator is meant for it. What exactly happens and how a mobile phone attach to the network. How it is different if the mobile is in roaming area?
A cell phone network is made up of the cell phones themselves, base stations, and the mobile switching center (MSC) hardware which does call routing, etc. The base stations (cell towers) are always broadcasting out control signals that contain a System ID (SID) and how it expects cell phones to identify themselves. When you power up a cell phone, it hears this and registers with the nearest base station and your cell phone sends its Mobile ID Number. This Mobile ID Number is more than just your cell phone number, it also contains its own system ID (SID) number, and it also contains the ESN, Electronic Serial Number that identifies that specific phone. If the base station's SID and cell phone's SID match, then the phone is on its home network. If not, then you are roaming and connect to another provider's network, usually for additional charges. Your phone usually can hear multiple cell towers but connects to the one that has the best signal (signal to noise ratio). After your phone is registered, your cell phone number plus ESN are forwarded to the MSC, which sends this to a home location register or HLR. If it turns out you're not on your home provider's network, it goes to a VLR, Visiting Location Register. This way the cellular network always knows where you are, that is, which cell you're in (what cell tower) so calls can be router to/from your cell phone.
Q:I was planning on buying a cell phone from t-mobile, the motorola cliq xt. i was gonna buy the phone with a 2 year contract since it's cheaper, but i noticed the cheapest plan is $39.99. I also noticed that once i click the plan, it brings me to a services page where it says required services are android and T-Mobile Android Unlimited Web. do i REALLY need the unlimited web plan or can i just buy the phone/39.99 plan? the unlimited web plan is $30 alone so it would cost 69.99/month. this is my first phone with an actual plan(currently mine is pre-paid), so i don't know much about them. thanks for any input!
particularly I even have Virgin cellular precise now and its an particularly stable enterprise. i even have the Texter's satisfaction plan and that i hit upon that it works for me by using fact i especially text textile extra advantageous than i make calls. once you pay the $19.ninety 9, it particularly is all you pay for and there at the instant are not any hidden costs different than that they fee for tax yet its no longer lots even though it purely covers for countless texting and for calls in case you pick different stuff like internet you will desire to get a wisdom %. it particularly is accessible on there internet site. desire this helped!! :)
Q:I have a mobile phone, an LG CU515. For as long as I've had it, I've experienced disruption of service. At random parts of the day, in any weather condition, I will hear a slight beep, and then open my phone only to read, Smartchip not allowed MM#The phone isn't shutting itself off, I just can't make or receive any calls, or text messages. WhenI'm in the process of an Instant Message, I'm immediately signed out. I've found powering it off, and then back on, fixes the problem. I miss calls and texts if I don't have the phone around me, as I don't hear the slight noise that always sounds, when these distruptions occur. I always get the messages that are missed, once I power the phone off and on.I've had the phone for at least 4 months. I've talked to 4 different 'experts' at ATT, but they're clueless. I'm very simple. I don't ask for much, but this is quite bothersome. Can you advise?
Phone usually go with 1 year manufacturers warranty. You can have phone checked to see if its a manufacturers defect then you can request from a replacement. If you have coverage for insurance you can also order replacement but usally there is a deductible that you would need to pay so you can get a replacement. You can also have the network in you area checked. it might not be the phone but the coverage in your areabut really seems like its a phone issue rather thatn a network issue. Good luck.
Q:I want a touch screen T mobile phone that does not require me to subscribe to web access.Does anyone know of a good one?
T Mobile has had many problems with their [phones and network since they found out that they are merging with ATT. I know first hand. Since they know that this merger will go through T Mobile just stop caring. Their goal is to sell as many phones as possible to lock you into a contract. T Mobile has spent millions in legal fees because their employees continue to give out their customer's ssn and pass code. I have the case number for this. I hope that this helps as a great deal of research has gone into this.
Q:I tried asking this earlier, I think, but I was in a hurry, and didn't get it out. My friend is trying to set up a Yahoo email account, but he does not own a mobile phone. Can we make this work, or does he have to find a different mail-providing site?
He needs a computer or laptop connected to the internet. Then he can set up an email account wherever he wants. All over the world every 500m (1500 ft) are Internet cafes. He could use one of those, where is the problem?
Q:I would love some advice, I'm going to sign up for t-mobile but don't know which new phone has the best battery life-- I had a lot of problems with my last phone at verizon, so its really important to me that it'll last like at least two days also good keys for texting, and preferably a slider. I'm on a budget, so $50 or under is the best! I've been looking at samsung blast but heard it had bad battery quality
My boyfriend and I both have T-Mobile. He has the blast and I had the Nokia 5310 (i recently upgraded to the G1.) The blast is an ok phone. The battery life is not anything amazing but it is ok. I really liked my Nokia 5310. It was compact, had a great music player and it had a long battery life. I know its not a slider phone but you should really check it out. They also have them on sale for $50, just at your budget!
Q:I have a business online which i need to put my mobile number onto. The thing is can i have a different number on my mobile that i can put online, which is linked to the same phone.Sorry i know you must be thinking WHY but i have my reasons. Thanks
nope you should just go get a cheap or used phone even though they will charge you for service you get the basic plan and most of the time if you don't buy a fancy phone after the rebate the phone its self is free
Q:can anyone tell me where i can download an anti virus for a mobile phone? it's a nokia n93.cheers
Just about anyone of the big anti-virus vendors (F-Secure, Kaspersky, Symantec, Trend, etc.) would be more than happy to sell you an anti-virus program for your mobile phone (there are no free ones). However, given that no viruses exist for it, buying such a product would be a waste of money and precious memory on the device. Still, if you insist, here are a few links.
Q:Anyone know about any free or demo mobile forensics software that can restore deleted missed calls from a cell phone? I have an LG VX9100, otherwise known as an enV2, if it helps
You can track anybody with a cell phone. Learn how.NOW! Just click the link and get started!
