- The easy answer is that the applied torque is the cross product of the radial arm and the force, or in this case T = 811*17*cos(13.5). The hard (it's actually not that hard) answer will depend on the design and material properties of the crane. Since the problem asks for max torque, I'd find the bending stress due to the moment found above (T = 811*17*cos(13.5)) where bending stress = Ty/I. Next, compare this to the yield stress of the crane's material and an appropriate failure criterion.

- this is not my area of study but i will give you something to consider. if you are looking for a large capacity crane for use on permafrost, you wont find one. the pressure placed on the permafrost by large weights will cause it to melt. anything that is heavy, like a house, will sink in the tundra just like it will in a swamp. for houses they excavate the foundation a build a giant wooden raft that the hose floats on. in ST Petersburg, Russians preferred a mix of reeds and slave laborers corpses's to build the raft. as long as the ground is not frozen there is somebody how makes what you want. if the ground is frozen, you will only find small machinery. best of luck ps dont look to hard. lots of diesel engines work great at sub-subfreezing temps.

- they might be breeding somewhere close near your window. Check for magets which turn into flys and spray some raid out there. Get a screen on your window and get rid of any food or drink that they mind want you to share with them.

There are other factors to consider such as cylinder size, flow, and pressure but these are usualy constants. - Block and tackle. Some disassembling required. Consider this Stonewall Jackson raided Grafton WV and took several locomotives over land to a southern rail head. The special equipment was developed due to increased engine size. When steam cranes were/are used temporary tracks are laid at the wreck site for several reasons. one of which is to get equipment in and the other is to haul the wreckage out. The actual number of cranes required depended on the engine/s in the wreck, location on the wreck, skill of the operators and extent of damage. If the locomotive was damaged to much, it might be cut up. If the location was too difficult for recover, they were abandoned or buried. Rumor has it that there are several locomotives left at the bottom of slides awaiting for some one with enough money to recover them for restoration. Like the story of legend concerning a 1953 Corvette in a old barn. Hope that answers all your questions.
