Q:I need to set up 'standard' chairs in various size circles. If I need only a few chairs (say less than 12), the circle is fairly easy to set up. But as the number increases beyond 20, to 30, 40, or more, the circle becomes increasingly less circular--that is, flat spots show up. For each person to be able to see every other person, flat spots are not good.
Maybe you could use a shape rather like a hexagon? But - and sorry if I've misread what you're planning to do - will the people you want to arrange have access to tables or similar? Is it the kind of event where you want them to take notes? Talk to one another? I don't know how long you're planning to keep them in the circle, but people tend to feel physically and psychologically uncomfortable if they have to sit for any length of time without any 'covering' in front of them. There's an optimum number below and above which this discomfort could become dysfunctional. The reason is that people feel (unconsciously, usually) that they're too exposed. Again, apologies if I've misread your purpose, but this phenomenon can derail the purpose of getting the group together.
Q:The nitrogen gas in present in the chair cylinder. However what keep chair at mid position, between highest and lowest position? Is there a valve that prevents chair from coming up any further from mid position. Also if it at the lowest point that then gas is fully compressed. what prevents it from pushing upward as I'm seating. Thanks in advance
The way a gas spring chair works is that the piston inside the cylinder contains a valve, which lets nitrogen gas pass from one side of the cylinder to the other (see the link below for a diagram). The compression is created because of the volume of the piston rod being introduced into the cylinder, but at all times the pressure on either side of the piston is the same. The lever on the underside of the seat opens the valve in the piston. If you sit on the chair but don't pull the lever, the gas in the piston cannot flow through the valve, so piston remains extended. When you pull that lever, the valve opens and allows gas to flow across the piston, so the piston is able to move down and the gas is compressed. When the chair is at half-height and the lever is released, the valve closes, preventing the piston from moving either way, because the pressures are equal on either side (the pressure in the cylinder is so great that the extra pressure added by sitting on the chair is tiny by comparison). When the chair is at its lowest, the compressed gas is all above the piston, holding it down. It's only when the valve is opened that gas can flow to the other side to raise it.
Q:need a gaming chair but cant afford it but what can i use as a replacement thats comfortable
Ok if an Xbox or something and you don't care what I did was buy an ugly chair that's very cummfy and it was cheap and if it's for a computer you can buy one for like 20$ on sale at walmart
Q:I am planning an outdoor ceremony, but it is on the grass. I want it to be on a hard surface so I was planning to rent tent flooring or an outdoor dance floor, to set the chairs up on. I found a company that charges per square foot, and I was just curious how many square feet should i allow per chair? also, how many feet do you think I will need to put in between the chairs for the aisle?
you should figure about 3 square feet per chair. it would depend upon how wide your dress is for the aisle. if it is not a ballroom type cinderella dress, then you could figure about 6 feet wide for the aisle. that would give each person walking side by side each 2 feet of space and have room on either side of them as well, but it your bridal party has someone large in it, you might want to add a little so that they don't brush against people in the aisle seats. you really should be able to tell your rental company how many guests you need to seat and they should be able to tell you how much flooring you need. this is going to be pretty expensive. people have outdoor weddings on grass all the time without using a floor.
Q:I'm a big fan of Vincent's work. Does anyone know what kind of chair that is? I would like a replica of not the picture but the furniture piece.Does anyone know wher I could find a furniture maker from whom I can buy one?
Hi! okorder /
Q:My wife and I found this old chair in a local shop. View the picture at:We think it was an old photographer's chair. We have no idea the vintage. Any info is appreciated and a link to an old photo of a similar chair in use would be great. Thanks.
I know it's not a photographers chair, and I know it has a specific name, but I can't remember it. Try OKorder. No, I'm serious. Just search chairs. They have thousands. Look for a similar one.
Q:I'm looking for one of these chairs for my daughters christmas and the stores are all sold out. If anyone can find me a link where I can purchase this i would appreciate it! Any color, any soft dora chair. Thanks!

Q:Has anyone ever sat in a Zuo Pluto chair? How comfortable are they? They look so precarious and like your back would get very tired. But they look hella cool too. I can't decide if I should get one
While I agree that comfortable is subjective, I certainly understand the benefit of asking for the opinions of others. That said, here is my 2 cents worth: This chair is stylish and comfortable. It is designed to be comfortable and supportive of your back. My opinion is favorable so I would therefore recommend the chair to you.
Q:where can i get one of these chairs?
It depends whether you want to buy online or at stores. Also what state you live in because some states might not have that particular chair. 1)For online you can always check on Ebay or Amazon, I provided websites for the exact chair you are talking about. 2) At stores I think it is rare to find, or just not labeled on the websites. It is probably at my best guess at the furniture store. I would first go to your local furniture store and ask them if they have Aarnio-Eero-Style-BALL-CHAIR-White-shel... Red interior They will locate it for you. If you want to just buy it online than just follow the two websites that I provided which is from Ebay or on Amazon whichever you like better. Hope this helps
Q:whats the name of the chair style anything you can think off that will helpHERES THE CHAIR
The style is straight back. I don't know how the other poster saw Bentwood OR rocker. It's either a parlour chair or part of a dining set. If it's part of a dining set, it's one of the head chairs because it has arms. The chairs around the sides usually don't have arms to facilitate the diner's seating/exiting. The head of the table has no one right next to them so they can have arms. Not all head chairs have arms. Chairs, as all furniture, are very stylized. Evey manufacturer has their own designs and even change them year to year. You cannot possibly hope to find a match from an odd piece by a picture. If you have access to the chair, you can turn the chair over and look for the manufacturers stamp, an impressed (sometimes burned in) logo with the name of the maker. Then you can look them up to see if they still exist. If so, contact them and see if it's still in production. Another option is to look up and contact every used furniture/antique house as far as you're willing to travel or have the item shipped. Send them detailed pictures and hope they come accross a match.
