- 1.) As stated in one of the answers,,, Convection heat IS NOT hotter than standard,,, 350 degrees is 350 degrees, whether there's a fan involved or not! 2.) All a convection oven does is blow the heat around, making the heat more even and forcing it into the product you are cooking,,, in turn,,, faster cookingWhen converting from convection to standard ovens,,, try adding about 10-15 minutes cook timeRaising the oven temp can cause uneven cooking and burning on the outside before the center reaches the proper temp.
