Q:In both bathrooms the drain ring has corroded and I'm afraid it will begin to leak. Is there a way to replace the rings without replacing the sinks? If so, what tools are needed and how long of a job is it? Or, do I have to call a plumber for this?
This Site Might Help You. RE: How do you replace the metal drain ring in a bathroom sink? In both bathrooms the drain ring has corroded and I'm afraid it will begin to leak. Q:Well I was cleaning my floor because we were about to install new tile flooring and when I went outside to get a load of tile my girlfriend flushed the bucket of water down the toliet without checking if a rag was in it and by the time I got back the toliet backed up and she shut both the toliet and bathroonm sink valves off, well the toliet I fixed and got the rag. But the sink, once I turned the valves on the water barely trickled out.....Whats the problem and how do I fix it??
Try to unscrew the nozzle on the sink. It is very possible that something is stuck in the screen from closing and opening the valves. What do ya have to loose?
Q:Do not buy ceramic pots counter
When buying pots should be clear, to the basin or to the pot under the basin, the two are not the same, the stage pot compared to the audience to look better, but the price is also slightly expensive, and later do health as pot Convenience
Q:They are pretty much tiny people..
It's 'Do Chinese people BATHE in the bathroom sink'. And no,they don't.Why,do you?
Q:what is the best drain cleaner for the bathroom sink?
Before you resort to a snake try this first. Under the sink the waste lines form a U. This is called a p-trap. You want to disconnect this. The trap is full of water (most likely funky water). Place a small pan or something like that under it so as to catch the water instead of letting it spill all over. You unscrew the fittings to remove it. It will require a pair of channel locks to loosen them, and then you can unscrew them by hand after you've loosened them. You will most likely find hair and assorted build up in the trap itself and in the drain tube that runs from the under side of the sink into the p-trap. This will also most likely be filled with hair etc. too. Clean all the pieces as best you can. It's nasty so be prepared for it. Reconnect everything and run water to see if that has relieved the problem. Make sure you tightened the fittings back adequately. Check for water leaks. If you find any, you will need to tighten the fitting/fittings a little more. You do not crank these fittings as tight as possible, but they must be snug. It's a feel thing. You get it with experience. If it drains fine you're good if not, you'll need to remove all the drain lines and run a snake through the lines to clear debris built up further into the drain lines. I don't recommend any liquid drain cleaners. Most contain a product called lye that can cause the debris to harden.
Q:I checked for a valve under the sink to see if it possibly wasn't open all the way but i did not see any valves. The cold water pressure is fine in the bathroom sink but hot water has been horrible since I moved in 7 months ago. Kitchen, and bathtub hot water pressure is just fine. The sink appeared to be newer if not brand new when I moved in. I live in the city, if that helps to know that I have city water and not well water. Please advise..I would love to be able to wash my hands with higher warm water pressureThanks in advance
You must have a shutoff valve under the sink. What does your hot water supply hose connect to? In any event it seems to me that there may be an obstruction in the shutoff valve or in the faucet. Possibly it is the rubber seal in the valve. I don't think the aerator is plugged because the cold water pressure is fine. Try disconnecting the end of the hot water supply hose that is at the faucet (after closing the shutoff valve) to see how much pressure you have in the hose. If the pressure is adequate, the problem must be in the faucet and you should disassemble the faucet's hot water valve. If the hose pressure is low, remove the other end of the hose and check the pressure directly at the shutoff valve. If the pressure is still low, you may have to shut down the water system so that you can remove the shutoff valve for cleaning. I recall that a number of years ago there was a problem with some water heaters, whereby the constant heat would cause the plastic filler tube on the inside of the cold water inlet to disintegrate over time. I believe that the plastic broke up into particles that were circulated into the hot water pipes, plugging the valves. Since you only have this problem with one valve, it seems unlikely that this is your problem. Yet I would not rule it out without checking the possibility.
Q:What is the sub-item of the wash basin and the mirror? Detail or decorative panels
Wash basin and mirror are subordinate
Q:The water just sits in the sink for hours.
Hi there, You can go to a hardware store and (in the plumbing department) look for something called a sink auger also may be called a sink cleanout. This device is about two feet long and looks like a spring with a hook on the end. There will be instructions on the package but basically you just insert it into the drain and rotate. The hook on the end should loosen the clog or allow you to pull the clog out. If in doubt find a clerk and tell him/her what your problem is and ask for a recommendation. I would not try any of the liquid products that claim to dissolve clogs. Usually they do not work for me. If the sink auger does not work you can remove the p-trap under the sink and usually find something is stopping it up. It will be easy to unclog the trap once it has been removed. Hope this helps, Al
