Q:Question about steel type used in bridges.?
It is used for other things besides bridges and that might be a bad use. Corten was used for very tall light standards in the Fort Worth Water Gardens with the clear understanding that it was to be kept dry. As time passed and personnel changed, somebody decided the round base with bolts sticking up was ugly and put dirt and plantings in the basin in the concrete holding the poles. The watering of the plants kept the rust going through the steel and one pole eventually fell, killing two people. The other light poles were removed.
Q:is batman in man of steel?
Batman himself is not in Man of Steel; he is in the upcoming sequel to Man of Steel though, titled Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice There are subtle references to Batman in Man of Steel though. When Superman and Zod are fighting and they fly up above the Earth, the satellite they fight next to has the Wayne Enterprises logo on it (Wayne Enterprises is the name of the company owned by Bruce Wayne AKA Batman). Also (and this one is very hard to spot) there is a part where Zod throws Superman into an office building, and just for a split second you can see a poster on the wall which says Keep Calm and Call Batman So no, Batman is not in Man of Steel, although he is in the sequel and he is referenced in Man of Steel.
Q:Where can you get a thick sheet of steel?
Try a local Fastenal store, they can order it for you by the sheet. If that doesnt help, then try a welding or fabricating store.
Q:hard ionized vs stainless steel cookware?
A good quality stainless steel cookware set is a necessity- it is virtually indestructible and you can use the harshest of scrubbers to clean it. You will need a basic set that has a 8 and 12 fry pan/omelet pan, a large pot that holds a minimum of 4 quarts, and 2 sauce pots at 1 quart and 2 1/2 quart sizes. I have several pieces of hard anodized cookware too- they do a wonderful job but food will still stick. A must is at least one Green Pan- preferably a 10-12 fry pan. They are truly non-stick, clean up is a breeze and making foods like fried eggs is infinitely easier when they slide out of the pan without breaking. They do not have the same issues that plague teflon pans- scrapes and shedding that you are ultimately consuming. You can easily find them online and at your area Target store.
Q:What's the process of making steel?
I believe you are asking about two vastly different processes. This is science so, if you want a specific answer, you have to ask specific questions. VERY Basically... 1) Pig iron production works by melting iron and pouring it into molds that produce ingots called pigs. 2) fraction distillation separates different substances (typically starting in liquid form) by controlled heating so, since different substances boil at different temperatures, the vapors can be captured selectively.
Q:how can i wax corten steel?
If the steel is true Cor Ten steel, it does not require waxing. Cor Ten is a steel designed to rust slowly over time ... then the rust acts as a natural barrier to prevent further rust. Check out the United States Steel building in downtown Pittsburgh, PA ... its nickname is The Rusty Nail.
Q:Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel? ?
Carbon steel is harder but does not resist corrision as well. It really depend on the grade. Like 440A is crap and 440C is much better. Aluminum would be the way to go. It is lighter and just as if not stronger. Some people will be die hards when it comes to either metal. I don;t know much about the guns. I know plenty about different grades of sttel when I collected swords and knives.
Q:Cleaning granite and stainless steel?
I just use my Method brand dish soap to clean my stainless fridge. Then polish it with a dry soft cloth. Then it also smells like cucumber when I'm done. :-)
Q:I am getting a benchmade mpr (m390 steel) and am unsure if it is a good knife look at the chart below?
From what I read M390 is relatively wear resistant, with very high stain resistance and good toughness. It is quite hard to qualify steel as better than other steel because it depends on many factors. E.g. for a small folder designed for delicate cutting D2 at high hardness would perform better, but if the environment is corrosive, like saltwater then M390 would be better. I'm not so sure about using stainless steels in large chopping style knives, but I've seen M390 used for them as well. Obviously hardness had to be lowered, which reduces edge holding ability, especially at low angles. Overall, it's a good steel, but if it will outperform S30V or D2 or 154Cm depends on heat treatment and blade geometry, knife designed use, etc.
Q:Is it me or is everything steel in pro wrestling?
Lex Luger's right elbow... OH YESH!!!! I SEE WERE YOU ARE GOING WITH THIS!!!
