Widening without permission is not a good idea! It's better to contact the mattress manufacturer directly and ask them to change the size of the mattress for you!

Bed bugs are hard to get rid of, personally if you have an infestation get a hold of your local pest company that treats for bed bugs.

I don't know about chicago but in my town Salvation Army thrift stores sell new mattresses . Another option is to go to a foam shop and get a mattress, make a platform out of 2x4's and plywood and there you go.

No bed bugs are not dangerous they feed off or blood and if you got them wash ever thing you can bed bugs do not go but you can kill them bed bugs well lay eggs and get bigger but remove every that like carpet couches and beds if you have bed bugs
