Q:ceramic tile question?
Probably most important is what subfloor you have under carpet. Concrete is the best for tile. Wood subflooring should be covered with a cement board first, and stay away from large tile size as they tend to break with a wood subfloor.
Q:Tile back splash......?
i will try to know about question.then i will try to give it
Q:What is the concept of tiles?
COFCO Property (000031): Company holding 90% subsidiary Peng Li Ceramics Co., Ltd., is a professional production of porcelain polished tiles manufacturers. 1992 production of porcelain polished tiles in 1997 to become China's first production of ultra-fine polished polished professional manufacturer in 1999 production of multi-tube fabric polished tiles, in 2001 the first to introduce matt non-slip polished tiles, to employ the Italian expert design, Guide the development of new products, closely follow the international trend. Q:Measuring and cutting holes in ceramic floor tile?
I'll try to answer this in layman's terms as best i can.. Take one tile and hold it exactly square with the tile just above the faucet Knob. Take another tile and put the edge of it dead center in the middle of the faucet knob(this will take another person to lend a helping hand obviously).The other edge of the piece of tile you are holding on the center of the faucet knob will come to exactly where you want to put the center bit of the tile hole cutter so mark that with your pencil take the piece your holding square on the tile above the faucet knob down and cut your hole using a tile hole saw bit that is slightly larger in diameter than the faucet knob.. Sorry if this sounds complicating but i think once you start doing it you'll see how easy it is.. Good luck..
Q:TILE AND INITIAL VELOCITY..............................?
A roofer tosses a piece of roofing tile froma aroof onto the gound 30 feet below. He tosses the tile with an initial downward velocity of 10 feet per second. <3 CHANEL<3 1. Make an equation to find hoe long it takes the tile to hit the ground. Use, H=-16t^2+vt+h, where h is the height after t seconds, v is the inital velocity, and h is initail height. H=-16t^2+vt+h 0 = -16t² + 10t + 30 ============================= 16t² - 10t - 30 = 0 ◄ Ans ============================= 2. How long does it take to hit the ground? Quadratic formula: at² + bt + c t = [-b±√b² -4ac}/2a t = [-(-10)±√(-10)² - 4(16)(-30)]/2(16) t = [10 ±√100 + 1920]/2 t = [10 ± 44.94]/2 ======================== t = 27.47 sec ◄ Ans ======================== hope this helps Remember that Jesus loves you. Know Him in His words the Bible. God Bless Lim♥E
Q:Can I install granite tiles over a laminate countertop?
We had ceramic tile put down over our old laminate countertop. The installer put a layer of cement backer board just like you would use in a shower wall installation. He put it on both the horizontal and vertical surfaces. It worked just fine. The only problem was the need to raise the kitchen sink up to match the new countertop thickness. Most granite tiles are much thinner than solid granite counter tops so weight should not be a problem
Q:Help me save my ceramic tile?!?!?
Well congradulations on your very clean floor, never fear the clorine bleach will buff off when it is completely dried considering your existing tile is not porus. if that doesn't take care of it, then try this, use a brush and wash it down very good with water and then use a solution of vinegar and water (half and half) this is called an acid wash in the tile work trade. If that does not solve your problem, then get your SIL back over to remove the existing grout and install new or just ask her to pay for it to be done by a professional (which ever suits ya). Be advised to clean your new grout thoughly twice after it has hazed over, then after 72 hours apply an acid wash mentioed above, let it dry, and install a grout sealer.
Q:How to judge the quality of tiles?
1. the same size the same thickness, the heavier good. 2. A few drops of water on the back, good water absorption. 3. Choose your own color.
Q:Sanding parquet floor tiles, advice please.?
First wood finish. It ain't cheap but you will be able to add new coats of finish later on without having to completely refinish the whole floor. You can rent a 'square sander' from Home Depot for abut $40 a day. It uses 4 six inch disk type sand paper. It doesn't dig in when started which allows a first time DIY person to do a good job. You move it around by putting pressure on the handle, real easy to use. Takes longer than a belt sander but you won't make mistakes. Make sure when you rent it that you get different size paper AND that they will stick (like velcro) to the sander unit face. You don't want to get home, start to use it and the sand paper disks fall off!! Had that happen with one. If you have a large floor to do rent the sander around 3 pm. You get 24 hours so you can sand from 3-11pm, go to bed, then start over in the morning. Otherwise you have to work from morning to evening. Makes for a long day.
Q:Wooden flooring or tiles in kitchen?
Tiles. Definitely. I have tiles in the kitchen and solid woodblock flooring in the hallway. Both get dirt trampled on them. The tiles still look as good as new (good quality ceramic tiles), and need the occasional hoover and mop. However, the dirt has worn the polish off the wood in the front hall so it's going to need a professional sand and re-varnish at some point, which is expensive and inconvenient (and dusty!). If you do decide to go with wood, get SOLID wood flooring and NOT laminate, as laminate curls up if it gets wet and I doubt this would be covered on insurance if in a kitchen ...! Hope this helps. If you're worried about the floor being cold in the mornings, you can get electric underfloor heating installed under the tiles before you put them down. It's not too expensive and you can put it on a timer. (things like the website below)
