- The tiling alone will cost more than $520.20 but you don't say if the tiling refers to the tile alone or the installation too. (12 X 15 X #2.89 =$520.20) Also you must figure into the amount of tile you will need things like breakage, corner or edge cut tiles, if you want tile baseboards to match the floor and patterns. You should conservatively consider about 10% to 20% more tile will be required as overage. You will also have to consider the cost of renting or buying a tile cutting tool, either a wet-saw or a score-and-snap cutter.

If So You'll Need To Buy Engineered Wood (Wood Sitting Upon Cross Layered Plywood For Stability) Rather Than A Solid So It Can Be Glued Down And Actually Stay Down. Also You Would Need A Moisture Barrier Which Keeps Water Down Away From Your Wood Floor; Some People Don't Know That When It Rains The Water Soaks Into The Yard And Rises Under Your House Right Through The Concrete Sub Floor Which Can Be Deadly For Wood Flooring IE Warping And Sinking. Resistance Wise You Need To Look At The Janka Scale Which Is A Wood Hardness Scale Higher The Number The Harder IE Better. The More Polyurethane Aluminum Oxide Mix (All Finished Wood Has It) They Glaze Over Wood Will Make It That Much More Durable To Dents And Dings Not Scratches All You Need Is A Rock On Your Shoe To Scratch Wood;(Wood Is Harder To Replace Dented Pieces) So That Should Make You Think Of Color Medium Tone Woods Don't Show Scratches As Much As Dark And Light Woods Do. Also Wood Has Corers Mitered, Angled They Can Collect Dust In Them So I Recommend Buying Square Cut So They Are Flush Together So No Room For Dust. ----------- Porcelain Tile Is Cooked At A Higher Temp Cooking Out More Air In The Tile Making It A All Around More Durable And Practical Product Easier To Clean And Maintain You Can Seal The Grout To Keep It Clean And Buy A Hover Floor Mate I Love Mine It Vacuums And Scrubs It Clean With Any Kind Of Liquid Floor Cleaners And Dries It Also. - Depending on the type of tile you might be able to use a sharp knife (exacto or paring knife) and gently remove the spots. If you have any kind of ceramic tile that would work (in my experience) except perhaps on the grouted areas. If you have grout and the Kilz is in/on the grout you might have to actually scrape some of the grout off and then reseal the grout. Good luck. It's laborious work but it should work. If you have linoleum tile I wouldn't do that because it might remove the finish. The next time you go to the paint dept. at the store ask them how to do it if you haven't solved the problem

- I m assuming you mean ceramic tiles. Texture or not even tiles can be slippery. What you need to check on tiles is the COF rating or slip resistance. There are tiles that are smooth and can have a rating of 5 ( highest and very few have this rating) which is a commercial rated tile, good for malls and where the public walks on them a lot. 3/4 is the most common for residential and you can find these are very common. Most all tiles 8 or larger is at least a 3 rating. Not all but most all. Take into account all hard surfaces are slippery when wet or you have wet feet and there may also be a sealer or coating on vinyl at work ( especially if theres an out side janitorial service cleaning them) that is making the surface slick too. But over all ceramic will be less slick than vinyl, Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL

- absolutely not!.....first there are easier ways to tile a backsplash other than cement board, grout, and mud (you know, the stuff contractors use).First, figure out your tile. Make sure that if this tile will come in contact with a lot of oil or dirt that you either get glazed tile or glass tile, or know that you will have to apply a sealer. Second, go to your local Lowes, Home Depot, etc and ask the tile dept guy or girl about tile mastic......it is a thin coat of stuff that you can stick tile to and then use a pre made tube of grout (ask the tile person) and you can have it done in a couple of hours. Another really easy way to stick up tile permanently is using a product called 'Liquid Nails' that is made for tile......you just use a caulking gun, put some on the tile, and stick away!.....then fill the cracks with the toothpaste looking tube of grout. - They should have been set using spacers. It is VERY difficult to get the spacing even without some form of spacers. You can use just about anything for spacers. On occasion I have cut up paint stirring sticks and used those. The point is you need something to accurately set the spacing. If they did not do it right tell them to rip it all out and do it over. The fact that it slopes slightly towards the drain should have no bearing on the spacing at all.
- Q:What‘s the average cost to install tile baseboards? I‘m replacing my wooden baseboards with tile and was just wondering what an average price to just do the baseboards with tile. I have roughly 1500 inches of floorboard that is going to be done and I am looking to use 20 X 20 inch tile. No bullnoseing or anything special, just cut the tile and install.Thanks
- UNLESS IT IS BATHROOM, LAUNDRY ROOM OR KITCHENS I JUST CANT PICTURE PUTTING CUT TILE IN. IT WILL LOOK TACKY WITHOUT A BULL NOSE OR A DECORATIVE STYLE. I RECOMMEND YOU JUST CHANGE OUT THE BASEBOARD TO A UPGRADED STYLE. WHAT DO YOU HAVE NOW? BASEBOARDS COME IN DIFFERENT STYLES AND SIZES FROM 2 1/2 INCH TO 6 INCH WITH DIFFERENT TOP CAPS. GO TO LOWES ETC AND CHECK THEM OUT BEFORE YOU DECIDE
- Q:Someone spilled a cleaning liquid on my marble tiles and the glaze came off. Does anyone know how to get the shine back to normal. Right now some parts look regular, and other parts are white. With a certain angle you can clearly see the glaze is taken off.
