- Q:I am installing a chair rail in a room with a window. When my chair rail meets the window, should I run it right below the window trim? Or should I give it some room between the rail and the trim of the window. I am painting one color below the rail and another color above the rail.Thanks for your help!
- Apart from just protecting walls from getting damaged by chair ends, chair rails also have a visual quality. When they meet window frames you should stop them and continue after the window. Someone has mentioned to frame the window as well, but that's additional expense and if you don;t want to do that you can end the chair rail near the window frame in a manner that will merge them with wall and window jam.

- Q:Just wondering how to go about this. I have four table chairs that i would like to re stain. I tried just sanding it but the old varnish clogs the paper really fast. I tried paint stripper but when I go to remove it I always get tiny splashes that some how get onto my skin and burn like a mofo. I'm using gloves but some always gets on my face, not so good. Could I just soak the chairs in water that has a bit of paint stripper?
- Do not soak the chairs in water, it would swell the wood and loosen the glue in the joints. What I suggest is that you get the citrus type of stripper that isn't caustic to your skin. Use the stripper as directed on the container then sand away any remaining marks until your chairs are bare and ready for a new application of finish. I've used the citrus stripper successfully several times. Just allow everything to dry well before you sand again. You'll have to be patient but you'll be pleased with the results. Good luck with your project.

Honey, fat people are heavy, they WEIGH more, they do not USE their weight to PURPOSELY destroy company property and whoever allowed the fat guy to use your chair is the one who is responsible. If it was you, it is your responsibility...and if your company employees fat guys/ladies they also need to have better chairs made of metal as opposed to wood and ensure they have chairs to accommodate fat people. It ain't the fat guy's fault...
