6. What's the characteristics about porcelain tiles and glazed tiles? Which one

more slippery, more aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean?

Glazed tiles are colorful, the effect is rather diverse, stain-slip, abrasion resistance but worse than the porcelain tiles. Long-term use may wear a large surface; porcelain tiles have the higher degree, long hard wear surface. Good performance and stable cleanup (before playing the best times to use the wax to improve stain resistance). The porcelain tiles are weaker performance in non-slip than glazed tiles. We should take attention on its anti-slip properties, face down in a tiled brick water testing.

7. How to choose bathroom tiles? Porcelain tiles or glazed tiles?

Currently used in the bathroom tiles with glazed tiles (mainly from price considerations, some high-end can choose tiles, notice to choose tiles), divided into Shinny and Matt two kinds. Light color makes people feel shinny, but the bathroom more appropriate to create a warm feeling, so the best choose is uses matte, the shinny feels more soft and not dazzling.

Q:I am going to move into a home that has ugly green and yellowish tile all over the kitchen!! The walls and sink are green, the counters are a wood laminate, the floor is an old beige vinyl, and the cabinets are a dark color and are old and dated. What can i do to make this kitchen much nicer on a really tight budget?! Help!!
Live with it till you can get on your feet and are able to tear it all out and remodel it. I'm sure you can add some plants and things to make it work for now. The style of your kitchen isn't going to pay your bills or put food on the table. So it is more of a want than a need at this point. Unless it is unsanitary and you should have gotten the owners to drop the price of the house so you could remodel the kitchen. If your on a tight budget, put the money back in case of an emergency and only get what you need for now not want. Add some lemons and limes in a dark wooden bowel or large glass bowel, Hang some retro dish towels that would help pull the focus off all the green and yellow, add potted herbs and a nice throw rug on the floor to help tie in colors.
Q:We're remodeling our bathroom and looking for tile. Thanks in advance!
I have seen prices on the web and yes you can get some good prices. BUT Shading for what you see in a picture is vastly different then actual products.... What I would do is to look on line for lines of tiles from a wide range of manufactures and use their store locater to find a dealer near you.I ve seen the way tile is shipped from some sources that are not used to handling tile and you could possible end up w/ chips. Plus your local store has a vast variety of knowledge of trims and what you ll need.. I did my GF s mom s place and we looked at tile to get ideas for her and narrowed down to tiles she liked. The on line price was more expensive than what the store was and what we payed .Any questions you can e mail me. GL
Q:I see Dongpeng ceramic tile on the packaging that write what the site, and then write the OF, OB what, I now Tangshan life, we say now Tangshan Dongpeng brick are Shandong, is that right?
Carton written to the address, where the same brand where the production of almost different places only factory
Q:I've tiled the walls and floors in my bathroom and want to install a tile baseboard. what kind of adhesive would work. Thanks
Both glazed Bathroom Ceramic Tiles can be laid directly onto a concrete floor, as long as the floor is dry and in good sound condition. After the floor has been nicely prepared what now? Well, the next step is to start laying out those tiles of yours. If you want the end result to look professional, then careful setting out of the tiles will be required. Now here comes the part of installing the Bathroom Ceramic Tiles which isn't a very complex job. Instructions on how to lay the Bathroom Ceramic Tiles, arrange, cement and other attributes are all over the Internet or home improvement guides. At the onset, you need to find the center of the floor and lay the tiles from there as it creates a feeling of visual symmetry. When arranging the tiles, you must make sure that the Bathroom Ceramic Tiles design is laid such that it creates continuity in the design. And yes, ensure that your tiles blend with the color of the wall or the general theme of your bathroom wall and the fittings. You could also install a tile heater to give your feet the warmth as you step on it, a very good feature to have especially during winters or to avoid that sharp chill you'd encounter early in the morning. You could also use a relatively warm color shade to offset the cool look of the bathroom fixtures.
Q:A roofing tile falls from rest off the roof of a building. An observer from across the street notices that it takes 0.32 s for the tile to pass between two windowsills that are 3.49 m apart. How far is the sill of the upper window from the roof of the building?
The tile falls with a constant acceleration of g, at the upper sill it will have achieved some velocity V What we know that if falls 3.49 m in a time of 0.32 sec, starting with the velocity V and accelerating at g d = Vt + 0.5gt^2 3.49 = 0.32V + 4.9(0.32)^2 V = 9.34 m/s Now just find how far something would have to fall to achieve a speed of 9.34 m/s using Vf^2 = Vi^2 + 2ad Vf = 9.34 m/s, Vi = 0 m/s , a = g = 9.8 m/s^2 9.34^2 = 2(9.8)d d = 4.45 m from the roof
Q:What purpose does it serve? Is it safe to assume the tile will settle half of the trowel thickness? For example, if using a 1/4 inch trowel, will the tile settle 1/8 inch when set in place? Thanks for any help/advice!
Thinset cements the tile to the subfloor. The settling depends on the tile, and whether or not you press it down.
Q:What is the standard water absorption of tiles?
It depends on which tile is. General magnetic bricks (polished tiles, better external walls, etc.) standard water absorption is less than 5%. There is also a completely impermeable interior wall with a standard water absorption of less than 10%. A little bit of the interior wall (permeable one) is greater than 10%. Magnet is generally better in water absorption.
Q:What is the probability that the two faulty tiles share an edge?
Break down the titles into 3 categories: - Corner tiles (there are 4) - Outer tiles that aren't corner tiles (there are 6*4=24) - The rest, on the inside (there are 6*6 = 36) If a tile is on a corner, there are only 2 possible other squares in the grid that it can share an edge with. If the tile is in the second category, there are 3. And if the tile is somewhere in the middle, there are 4 neighboring tiles it could share an edge with. The total probability that two random tiles share an edge is: ( P(tile is a corner tile)*(2/63) + P(tile is on end)*(3/63) + P(tile is in middle)*(4/63) ) / 2. We have to divide by 2 because we're counting each pair twice. So this is: ((4/64)(2/63) + (24/64)(3/63) + (36/64)(4/63)) / 2 = (8 + 72 + 144) / 2(64*63) = 112/4032 = 0.027777... EDIT: Right after I first posted this I noticed that the user above me got the same answer unsing a different method. I like his method better, but it would seem to be that the total number of unique pairs on the grid is not 64*63, but 64*63/2 because there are two different ways you can pick tiles to make the same pair (depends on which order you pick them in). So maybe the answer is 112 / 2016 and I missed something in my reasoning!
Q:well I burned a small hole in a linoleum tile. How do I fix it?
You can remove a single tile with the aid of heat. There is a tool called a heat gun that looks like a hand-held hair dryer that will serve this purpose. You can purchase or rent them. You may try a hair dryer first. The heat softens the tile and adhesive. I would also carefully cut several slits in the tile and use a putty knife/scraper to remove it in pieces. Once removed, scrape the remaining adhesive away and then dry fit the replacement tile to check for fit , level and smoothness. Then apply tile adhesive and weigh it down for 24 hrs. You may also attempt to patch the hole if you have a matching replacement tile [or can cut a section from under a cabinet or appliance. 1) cut a shape around the hole that will best match the pattern in the tile; cut a patch from the replacement linoleum. 2) fill the area with a matching epoxy. You might try to grind some small shavings from a replacement tile and mix with a bit of clear epoxy to fill the hole. Sand smooth after the epoxy dries. Obtain a glossy topcoat with a bit of clear nail polish.
