FAQ

1.    For Polished Porcelain Tile, is the 30*60 available?

—— Yes, 30*60 is available. Due to the basic size is 60*60, we need to cut 60*60 tile into 30*60. 6 pcs are packed into one carton.

2.    What is the MOQ for this tile?

—— Normally the MOQ is 1382.4 m2 for one 20’ container. To support our clients, we could go with 3 models to fill one container at most.

3.    Can we use the carton with our own design and brand name?

—— Yes. Normally we go with Neutral Carton or our Carton with our CMAX brand name. But for carton of client’s own design, the MOQ for one size is 5 containers, due to the carton factory can’t arrange production if quantity is below 5000 pcs.

Basic Information :

Q: What‘s the average cost to install tile baseboards? I‘m replacing my wooden baseboards with tile and was just wondering what an average price to just do the baseboards with tile. I have roughly 1500 inches of floorboard that is going to be done and I am looking to use 20 X 20 inch tile. No bullnoseing or anything special, just cut the tile and install. Thanks
UNLESS IT IS BATHROOM, LAUNDRY ROOM OR KITCHENS I JUST CANT PICTURE PUTTING CUT TILE IN. IT WILL LOOK TACKY WITHOUT A BULL NOSE OR A DECORATIVE STYLE. I RECOMMEND YOU JUST CHANGE OUT THE BASEBOARD TO A UPGRADED STYLE. WHAT DO YOU HAVE NOW? BASEBOARDS COME IN DIFFERENT STYLES AND SIZES FROM 2 1/2 INCH TO 6 INCH WITH DIFFERENT TOP CAPS. GO TO LOWES ETC AND CHECK THEM OUT BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Q: I know granite is one, but what other less expensive kinds of tile are durable enough for countertops? Just bought the house so money is tight and granite,or even granite tile, is out of the question.
Any tile, when properly set will work fine, but your much better off with a hard bodied or a porcelain type tile. These well average in price between1/3$ per s/f and higher of course. Rule out most natural stones and marbles, these go for much more. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: Or can I just start tiling over the painted wall?
The short answer is you dont NEED backerboard. Before backerboard came into widespread use, tile went directly on wallboard. But, you'd be well advised to use backerboard. Tile used to fail in those old days. It is much less likely to fail today because tile setters routinely used backer board.
Q: Do you fill up the grout all the way to the top or only upto inner edge? We filled it up to the inner edge, but now the grout and the tile edges are starting to collect dirt very easily and it is very hard to clean. We are thinking of regrouting all the way to the top so that it will be easier to clean. Is that the correct way to grout these tiles?
Most all tiles ( there are exceptions) are always grouted flush to avoid a couple of things. One is the problem your having now and the other is to protect the edging of the tile.depending on just how much more you have to fill in, you make have to dig some grout out to get a proper bond.. Any questions you can e mail me thru my avatar and check my qualifications there GL
Q: I‘m redoing a sunroom in florida and the floor is in good condition but white textured vinyl floor tile prof laid, I want a cork tile look and wondered if there is a plastic type paint to do the job. It will not get a lot of shoe traffic. TKS.

Q: How hard is this? Is this someone with 0 experience do? I wanna remove my girlfriends jacked up rug and install tile since she has two puppies. What do you guys recommend?
Easy, put down the peel stick tiles. Pull up your carpet and vaccum the floor, peel and stick. . I would seal the sub floor with Bins or a urethane or shellac to prevent the piss smell from getting in the floor and if it already has happened this will keep the smell concealed somewhat but on those hot humid days the smell of urine will be there. Good luck Les the painter. Had to do this for my sons house when he 1st bought it prior to laying the carpet, preveious owners had cats
Q: I‘m planning to tile up my space. It‘s a 27 square meters. I‘ve calculated the number of tiles. It will be around 140 to 150 pieces with extra tiles. How much or how many bags of tile adhesive will I consume for the 27 square meters space using 150 pieces of tiles? or What is the area a bag of tile adhesive could cover? Can you show me a computation.
You don t say what size tile it is and what your going over as far as a substrate. It makes a difference. Since I familiar with the coverage in s/f and your post suggests you came from the states I ll use a s/f format and some generalizations. Assuming you have a larger tile you should be using a larger notched trowel.1/4x3/8 but you may want to use a larger 1/2x1/2. I ll go off of a 1/4x3/8 trowel. A standard 50# bag of thin set will cover an area of 60/70 s/f using a 1/4x3/8 trowel. Splitting the difference and using 65 s/f per bag, divide 65 into the 290 s/f you have. Or 4.46 bags. So you ll need 5 , 50# bags of thin set using a 1/4x3/8 trowel. If your using a different size trowel , all bags have a coversion chart on the back to figure your coverage. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
Q: How to effectively remove the glue marks on the tiles?
How to effectively remove the glue marks on the tile 1. The usual use of wiping oil coated to wipe evenly, slightly with nails to pull out the part of the first pull out, the rest of the wet towel to wipe off. 2. With a hair dryer blowing with plastic parts, the glue can be very easy to get off the bar. 3. Spray the oil spirits in the location of rubber marks, after a while a plastic mark that is out, may wish to try. 4. With alcohol + eraser can also be, although this method is more tired, but the effect is good. 5. You can take a piece of vinegar covered with a rag to cover the whole place of plastic marks, until the plastic sticky stains completely wet, you can use the ruler easily removed. 6. If you can, first with blisters, and then coated with a little detergent, and then look at the effect of old toothbrush brush. 7. with a cloth dip tip or Erguotou wipe will have a good effect.
Q: Does all kinds of tiles calculate the formula per square meter? For example, a few pieces of 300X600 is a square meter?
Really dizzy I was selling tiles 30 * 60 is now very common This is the iron wall used, no matter what kind of specifications, you just 1 by (side * wide), into the meter unit. 80 * 80 = 1.56; 30 * 30 = 11; 30 * 45 = 7.4; 60 * 60 = 2.78; 30 * 60 = 5.56. But according to square down, not enough, will almost, will be a waste.
Q: We want to put ceramic tile on our front porch, its fully covered but we were told you had to put porceline tile outside not ceramic. Does anyone know or have you done this?
don't believe anyone who tells you that you have to put porcelean only outside. porcelean costs more, and that's a sale to them. my company has put many a ceramic tile outside, regardless of the type of weather an area receives, and have yet to have a problem. i strongly recommend a multi flex thinset, over a regular thinset, and please don't buy your thinset from home depot. if you would rather buy from lowes over a tile distributor, buy lowe's ultrafex II. it's a superior product. pick any tile you want, from any store you want, and put it on your porch. make sure the right thinset notch size is used. a tile up to 12 inches requires a 3/8 notch, a tile up to 18 inches requires a 1/2 notch, and anything over 20 inches requires a 3/4 notch. if the proper notch size is used, you shouldn't have any problems with cracking. if your area is subject to hard freezes in the winter, a little rubbing alcohol (not much, maybe a cup per bucketful) added to your thinset guarantees the thinset will never freeze. good luck!
