- Q: I have a mostly clear cylindrical glass that sits on my desk. If I hold it up to my face I can't see my reflection by looking directly into it. Instead I see right through it. - Ok, a box with a bulb is a fire hazard. Please don't do this. Check the temp of your blanket with a thermometer. If it's below 99, or above 103, chances are the egg is already dead. If you found the egg on the ground, having fallen from a nest, it is more than likely already dead. A sudden jarring kills embryos. If you still think the egg has a chance, you can continue with the heat blanket (so long as the temp is in the right range), but put a damp cloth in next to the egg. Humidity is a big part of getting the egg to hatch. Over handling the egg can force germs in through the shell (an egg shell is porous), so don't handle it any more than you have to. Mark one side of the shell with a magic marker, and turn the egg two or three times a day, so that part of the time the mark is up, and part of the time the mark is down. After saying ALL of this, have you thought out what kind of bird it is? If it's a wild bird, the diet will range from dead bugs to regurgitated seeds, depending on breed. AND, the baby bird will need to be fed every couple of hours. If this is a wild bird, please rethink trying to hatch it. Good luck.

- The easiest way is to gather your hair high up like you're going to do a really high ponytail. Then twist it until it starts to coil, and once it coils into a bun, secure it with a pencil (best) or rubber band (not as good because it holds it more loosely). This makes really good looking waves in my hair, but for me it doesn't stay without hairspray. You could also use a 2 straightener or a large curling iron or large hot rollers. For the straightener just get a piece of hair and then twist the straightener 180 degrees away from you and pull down the strand slowly. There's videos on youtube of how to do it. Hope that helps. Oh ps a lot of people say braid it but to me this just looks crimped and not at all like big natural waves. French braids look a little better and more natural, giving more transition from the straight top of your head to the wavy bottom of it.
