Slip resistance:
Boards of Techwoodn according to ASTM D2394-05. This is the best ranking for bare-foot slip resistance.
Weathering resistance:
Boards of Techwoodn have very low moisture uptake.This is key for mold and mildew resistance.
UV resistance:
4000 hours accelerated Xenon-arc Exposure,the Boards turned slightly more clear and colored.
Abrasion resistance:
The resistance to abrasion is similar to oak.
Fungus resistance:

- I run across this alot. I own a cleaning business. The best thing to do is use vinegar and hot water. Use a plain cotton mop. Sponge mops leave a line of fuzz when you pull. Wring the mop out real good so as not to have water spots. Armstrong has a great line of floor products.. These can be used occasionally without leaving a buil-up. Good luck

- I wouldn't recommend filling the cracks before you stain it, because whatever you use will be a different shade then the wood. Although I have heard of a product called Stain Putty a powder that mixes with stain to use at the same time you are staining the wood. I haven't used this product but from what I read it seems like the only option besides waiting untill after you poly'd the floor and then using wood putty.

- Don't ever use mop and go type cleaners on your laminate floor. They build up a dull residue with time. Don't use any wax on your floor -- this doesn't work for Laminate. Pergo makes a spray cleaner (hard surface cleaner) that is perfect for cleaning your floor. Mohawk and Armstrong also make comparable products. I have also had a lot of success with an Orange-Glow product in a spray bottle that I get at Target. DO NOT USE the resurfacer in this line -- it is only good for hardwood floors. The cleaner is perfect and comes with a special mop that shines the laminate really nicely.

- Q:We are going to install 20mm laminate flooring and I heard that the underlayment is just a sound buffer. We currently have subfloor that is pretty flat and even. Can I omit the underlayment? - No you do not need any other underlayment. It is a bad idea to double up on padding because this will cause the joints in the floor to flex more and weaken the tongues, causing eventual board separation. It's very important that you use the 6 mil plastic for vapor barrier. Rosin paper is useless over concrete. Overlap the plastic a few inches and tape the seams and you should be fine. - Cork is hypoallergenic as has a natural substance in it that makes it resistant to mold and insects. Cork is a sustainable environmentally friendly product and has a great appearance.I would phone a reputable flooring store and make sure you have someone that has experience install it. It is a personal preference of to what you choose, my friend loves her linoleum as she finds it so easy to care for. It looks like tile and I have seen people sitting at her table reach down and touch it. They have very realistic patterns. Hope this helps.
- Q:I am looking at a home from 1939. i know asbestos was used from like the1970's back very often.i want to lay down different flooring in the kitchen,however i do now want to mess with the removal of the crap(asbestos)is there a way to put flooring down without having to get all this professional removal done. and no i don't want to mess with doing it myself either.
