- Q: I recently lost my vision in one eye (permanently) due to lack of maintenance (on there end) on equipment that I rented. I rented a excavator from a rental company and shortly after using it part of the machinery (the tooth from the bucket) flew off and hit me in the eye permanently blinding me. Also there was no windshield on this to pull down for protection. Is there a legal case to this? The piece that hit me was approx. 3quot; wide x 6quot; long x 2quot; thick of solid steel, hitting me at approx. 30-40 mph and almost knocking me out. I'm not talking about a little piece of metal that would bounce off of safety glasses. The metal of course did not actually go into my eye but rather hit me so hard it smashed my eyeball flat. Also, we found out later that the bolts holding the tooth on were not the ones made for this excavator, were not the right size and were not hardened bolts. They should not have been used period.
- Were you wearing safety glasses?
- Q: I have a crested gecko, he's only a few months old now but he loves to climb and jump. I had seen online someone who had several cresteds in a huge tall terrarium and he had made a climbing wall on the back wall of it for them with ledges and things like that. I just have mine in a 10gal tank because he's still so small. I have one of those paper egg cartons standing up that he loves to climb and hide in (I've seen other people use this too) and I have some fake plant things that he likes to climb on too, but I've been thinking about making him an actual climbing thing with ledges to jump to and from. Does anyone know what kind of materiel would be good and also be safe to use for something like this? I was looking at excavator clay burrowing substrate...it's for reptiles that burrow, but it says when you add water to it you can mold it to make hills and ledges, but I wasn't sure how well it would work for something like making a vertical wall. Anyway would love some ideas. Thanks!
- you can purchase a all Natural wooden background for a 10 gallon or buy a bigger one and cut it down i customized my own cage with my females and have the natural wood on all sides, a waterfall and a fog machine with lots of live plants. Its the best thing if ever seen used for climbing, also put plenty of live looking think vines they love them its also great exercise for the jumping experiences
- Q: perkins engine
- I know it is a 22 hp and only manufactured for england but the cc rating i don't know here is a cat site maybe you can find it
- Q: I have one 320 and two 330 cat excavators. I would like to know If i can install hammer on to them or do i have to buy new excavator for that.thank you in advance
- If you have the owner's manuals still, there may be jack hammer model numbers in the back under attachments. Good Luck
- Q: I have to move about 5 inches of dirt with a length of probably 15 feet and a width of 10 feet. Is there any other way that is easier than a shovel and a wheelbarrow?
- Yes, a Bob Cat, or excavator. You could use tnt, but will have problems with the local police department.
- Q: fullform of JCB????????
- Joseph Cyril Bamford, if you are talking construction stuff.
- Q: I am buying a home that has a large shed in the back. The loan is FHA and the appraiser requires it be torn down or repaired. This is an old shed close to 100 years old and was built with all 2x4s with many rotting pieces so fixing it would cost the same as rebuilding a new one. The shed is approx 15x24 in an L shape. I'm working with a contractor for the other repairs and he quoted me at $7,500 for a full demo, I said leave the floors and he brought it down to $5,500. This seems like a rather large amount especially looking around online I was expecting 2-3k at most. Is his quote realistic? Im under a deadline so I had him write it up but I most likely will do it myself or find someone with a excavator to come in and just crush it.
- Get 2-3 more quotes, see if they are better.
- Q: Attentions of excavator operation
- First, when the downhill hand door frameExcavator super off-road capabilities, we all know. With the combination of the crawler and the working device, the excavator can climb up the steep slope, and also can slide downhill easily. There is a danger of being easily ignored the situation, is the excavator in the downhill or is under the trailer, as the body forward, many drivers will push the left handedness of the front windshield or door, right operating excavator. At this point, if the door is open and unlocked, the door is closed because it is gravity, and it is usually very powerful. Hand on the doorframe will be clamped. The consequences are serious.Excavator downhillTherefore, when the excavator is working, the door of the excavator cab is closed with a lock, and a lock is opened, and the door must be locked whether the door is open or closed. The driver tried not to walk the door frame. Two, walk high armMany beginners or apprentices feel that the boom of the excavator is the highest. The bucket is fully opened and the bucket is in the air, so that the vision will be better when walking, and if so, it will be cool to walk and spin at the same time. It is very dangerous to walk in this way. As the working device is held high, the center of gravity is high and the ground is slightly uneven.Hold your arms high when you walkSo walking and operation must not be cool, look at the foot of the road is the most important.
- Q: i'm not dealing with engineering line. This might soubds like a stupid question to ask. But i just need to know. Hope you can help me to sort it out. Thanks alot.
- The bucket diesigner/builder would be Mechanical Engineering. Even though the end use is Civil-related, the company in question is going to have mostly mechanical engineers.
- Q: I looking for any possible suggestions on how to flip a large flat piece of steel weighing 25kip that is 12.5ftX9ftX0.5ft. At the company I work for we already use an overhead crane with a chain wrapped around the piece of steel to flip it but this takes too long. I have explored options of using clamps with the crane but none of the vertical clamps are big enough or affordable enough and other clamps don't promise to be a sufficient option. One last thought which seems best is welding two pad-I's to one side of the piece of steel and hooking chains to the pad-I's but that requires welding and arcing time. Does anyone have a better suggestion? Thanks!
- A big Komatsu excavator will turn it over in a few seconds. Some well placed semtex might do it as well but you'd need an explosives expert to get exactly the right amount.
