Q:hiwhenever there are clouds, lightning or clouds sparks strikes my house and damage my electrical equipments like tv, fan, lights. my house has an entrance from south side and have windows, doors openings from this side, i also have openings in north direction to access to my back verandah but no sparks fall from this side. The house have 3' high iron bars fencing at front wall of 5' height as well as on rear wall of 5'-6 height. Do i need to put one 1'-6 high lightning rod made up of copper and aluminium and placed it on the roof top of my house to arrest these lightning sparks whenever they fall or some lightning arrester or you have any good solution of my problem. my house is 39' wide and 52' in length and 33' high(including ground floor, first floor, second floor) and have flat roof top and its in haryana region. please suggest me what to do? i will be really grateful to youthanksbye
You Have the answer in your question you basically have to use a lightning arrestor an top of your house. But make sure that the earthing of it must be separate from your house earthing and try to maintain a earth voltage around 1Vlts preferably below 1 Volt. For more information on lightning arrestors go to the link below.
Q:I will go to American in next month and I need to get some pieces of equipment e.gcamera, digital vedio,so I need someone canlet me know how much walt use in u.s.a .Because we use 210 walt in Hong Kong.I need to bring the adaptor or not.Chelsia Leung
120 volt / 60 Hz. Adapter kits should be readily available.
Q:I want to choose between Electrical Engineering and MBA , but I heard this career now a days is not a good investment because of outsourcing from Asia , what do you think about that
Of course.mechanical engineering and electrical engineering are hvng gud career because it is a part of our daily life.since electronics equipments are now available in cheap rates electronics and such other engineering has no scope
Q:doing homework need some answers.like eg.what fires do, leaving electrical equipment on etc.
people around you harms the environment :) 1.pollution 2.Water scarsity 3.unhigenic
Q:After all, the whole point of ATEX certification is that it doesn't make a fire. One would think if you can safely use something in an explosive atmosphere you can use it on shabbos. By the same token a shabbos light should be safe to use in an explosive atmosphere.
When I was in fourth grade, the science teacher taught us the physics definition of work and explained how it differs from the everyday definition of work Much like that -- Jewish legal definitions of Hebrew words do not always line up perfectly with the everyday use of English words that aproximate them. With electrical items, the prohibition of fire is only one of the prohibitions to be aware of for Shabbat -- off the top of my head, there is also boneh (building) and bishul (cooking) On the reverse side -- your logic does not hold in even the most basic English definition. It is only the Karaites that believe there is a Shabbat prohibition of fire, the normative prohibition is on making fire and putting out fire -- thus, there are quite a few devices used on Shabbat that are straight forwardly on fire (well, heck -- just think of the candles themselves!!!) A Shabbat lamp is simply always on - but has some cover to keep the light from bothering. Hopefuly, this whole structure is well insulated (I don't know -- never used one)
Q:i.e. extended warranty.
I know this isn't much of an answer but I think it depends on the item. For example, I bought a $32 toy and toys-r-us tried to sell me a warranty that was $12. Doesn't really make sense. But the warranty on my flat screen TV is probably a good value. -- On a side note, it is wonderful that items are so cheap now that we have to consider the value of the warranty but I am worried about out throw-away society. I had a neighbor that just bought a new lawn mower because it leaked oil. That would cost $12 to fix. Oy!
Q:(Warning: I have no knowledge of electrical equipment) I just bought a black light. It can fit into my lamp, but I noticed that the lamp had a label that read To reduce risk of fire, use a 60 watt type a lamp max. The bulb is 75 watts. Is it okay to use the bulb or should I not use it?
Don't use it. The bulb will get too hot for the lamp. The lamp must be rated the same or higher than the bulb.
Q:I am a mechanical engineer and i have had 4 different jobs and i'm forced to be an expert in electrical engineering, because everything is electrical/electronics/computerized these days. I am terrible with electrical concepts.i barely passed the only EE class i had to take, and i am trying to learn this stuff on my own, but it's like Greek to me. WHAT CAN I DO? This would be like forcing a lawyer to be an expert in bricklaying or forcing a doctor to be an expert in glass blowing!!!
Gatorbait is right. A good manufacturer's rep. will be eager to help you learn about equipment operation is his field because good customer technical service leads to improved customer sales.
Q:a small fire that is at the outlet
Turn off the power if possible. Electrical fires can be put out with water, if you do not have a dry chemical to use to smother the flame. Electrical equipment will eventually deenergize itself when the conduction material burns through to the point of non-conductivity. The problem with electrical fires is that they spread to the surrounding materials. When those surrounding materials are flammable, that is the real concern.
Q:construction, agricultural, forestry, medical, electrical HVAC etcwhat it will be the best name for a business that it will supply some agency with all kind of equipment ( for all possible industries and activities)
