- Q: I have a new light fixture I am trying to install. The electrical box has two sets of black and white wires coming in. Both of the black wires are connected together while the white wires from either set were used to connect the old fixture. How should I wire in the new fixture. The switch for this light has only one set of black and white wires connected to the light switch.
- Possibly the box was wired using 2-conductor romex as a switch leg. That means one of the blacks is the power into the fixture box. It connects to the other black that goes to the switch. From the switch, the white is used to feed power back to the fixture. Hence you have one white that is neutral and one that is energized. This is not your fault but is 100% wrong, against code and is dangerous for someone like you that is trying to figure out what was done. Switch legs are accomplished using three conductors; one red, one black and one white. Use a current tester and see if you have one white that is hot and one that is neutral. If so, use a black magic marker and color the hot white one black. Do the same where it attaches to the switch.

- Depends what lights they are,spot lights perhaps?,anyway,tell your local parts shop what you`re wiring up and the will supply you with the correct cable. Or you could go down the scrappy and rip out some of the thickest cable and use that.
- Q: So, I purchased a motion sensor light switch to replace the regular switches at my new condo. I have the wires exposed and I've identified the hot wire. My only problem is the hot wire (from inside the wall) is a single thick copper prong, whereas the wire for the motion sensor is split into like 15 different small copper wires.... I don't think the thick, single wire from the wall will work with the twisting wire connectors I purchased.... Am I able to just put the wires together and duct tape them??
- No duct tape. Wire nuts will work for stranded and solid wire. Put them together twist the wire nut on then have a beer. Repeat process until you run out of beer or wire.

- You can connect the remote wire to the radio accessory power wire. This should be yellow in a 95 Grand Prix. Your amplifier will turn on and off with the key switch.

- Q: I need to rewire my boats trolling motor wiring.. I have a 55# thrust trolling motor witch draws about 45-50 amps under a full load. I have 8 GA on hand I could use.. but would I get full power out of my motor? Does 8 gauge wire support 50 amps? It is stereo wire.. Braided copper wiring.
- How long is the wire run? 8-gauge can handle 50 amps safely, but you may get an unacceptable level of voltage drop if the wire run is very long. If it's just a few feet, it should be fine. If you have enough wire, you can always use two runs. If you combine two 8-gauge wires, it's the equivalent of a 5-gauge wire.

- Here's okorder /... The single coil will be very similar. You'll note that the humbucker has 4 wires, but two of them are soldered together. You can ignore them and wire your single coil like the other 2 wires. Bare wire goes to ground. White wire goes to the outside lug of the volume pot. Center lug of volume pot goes to output jack.....the part that connects to the tip of the plug. Opposite lug of volume pot goes to ground Outside ring of input jack goes to ground.

- based upon the gauge you have... i do no longer think of you're placing it to a mustang yet i detect genuine low-priced air stress gauges are very deceptive.. your 5.0 may well be 50 psi (if it relatively is prolonged each and every of how out) and is a great way overinflated. the properly suited tire stress is the two interior the glove container on a plaque interior the door or is a sitcker on the rear door section.. yet stress could desire to be form of 32 psi (220 kps for our metric friends) on your motor vehicle in case you haven't any longer pushed it for greater effective than 8 hours...

- The red one is the earth wire so should go in the right part by the fuse and the yellow one is neutrol so goes in the top middle bit :) Hope that helps
