Q:carbon steel?
Try the internet. I'm sure the steel suppliers there know about this
Q:Nylon or steel......?
Steel string 4 playing wid plectrum, nylon 4 finger style playing
cathodic protection
Q:Will this steel rust?
Stainless steel is not rust proof. it's just rust resistant. It will rust. It just takes much longer to do so... So, yes, I'd dry it well after use, and even consider wiping it with a cloth containing a very lite coating of oil.
Q:Difference between Cold Rolled steel and Castle Forged steal. Game of Thrones.?
Cold rolled steel is referring to rolled steel. It is referring to weapons made from rolled steel that is unrolled and stamped out. In real-life, rolled steel isn't nearly as strong as steel that is cast and forged. Think of a cheap dinner fork that you can easily bend and a nice dinner fork you can't bend at all. The cheap fork is stamp-pressed out of rolled steel and the nice fork is cast. In Game of Thrones, cold rolled steel is crap, but it's cheep and common. Castle forged steel is the best most people have available, much higher quality than cold rolled steel. Presumably it's forged in the castles of Westeros, including King's Landing. Valerian steel is special, rare steel that was anciently forged that is stronger than any other steel. They no longer make Valerian steel since the fall of Valeria. As such, the only Valerian steel available is by getting it from things already made. In real-life, it might be comparable to the extremely high quality steels forged into ancient katanas, ninja fighting swords from Japan. The Lanisters took a sword made of Valerian steel that had been passed down to Ned Stark and had it melted down, recast, then forged into two smaller swords.
Q:What types of ammo can penetrate 1/2 inch steel plate ?
You need to read in depth about steel and the many forms and recipes that can be used as well as the difference of a sabot and a FMJ round. Many factors can change the ability of a given object to resist a projectile. Angle being top of the list. Next time you walk past a Bank look at the BR window, if they have one, and note it is angled down from top to bottom. This adds to the rated strength and deflects most rounds in a direction that may assist in the round not bouncing around and hitting others in vital locations. Modern armor used on tanks includes DU. My former employer has steel that at 1/2 is as resistant to attack as 1 of the competion. There are other tricks like adding ball bearings or metal shaving to steel and cement ot break tools used to drill. They will have an effect on the ability to break a projectile as well. You are just one more looking for a short answer to a very complex issue. Armor piercing rounds have been around for some time. Sabots and DU. A .50 sabot armor piercing round may well penetrate what a standard .50BMG will not. Silk can be effective in stopping a projectile might need a thick blanket wrap.
Q:i know stainless steel don't rust, does that go the same for just regular steel..?
There are dozens of types of steels, some stainless and some not. They differ a lot in their chemical composition and in how they're made (especially heat treating methods). They all vary in their strength, working properties and corrosion resistance. Regular steel (technically carbon steel--mostly iron, with a little bit of carbon) rusts quite badly if unprotected and in the right environmental conditions i.e. humidity/moisture. The iron in regular steel reacts with oxygen to form iron oxide--the orange/red stuff we call rust. Iron oxide is a loose and porous material which provides no protection to the underlying steel, which is why rusted regular steel will continue to rust. Stainless steel, in addition to containing iron and carbon, contains chromium as a component--and it's the chromium that is important for corrosion protection. To be fair, even stainless steel rusts but what happens is that it's the chromium that reacts with oxygen to create a microscopically-thin layer of chromium oxide. This layer is very tough and actually protects the uncorroded steel, preventing further corrosion. Broadly speaking, the higher the chromium content, the more corrosion resistant the stainless steel.
Q:i have guestion a bout steel?
Stainless Steels are alloys that are made up of iron and generally contain around 11.5% chromium. For obtaining special properties, nickel, carbon, chromium, and other elements can be added to it. There are four types of Steel : Carbon Steel Alloy Steel Stainless Steel Tool Steel From kitchen utensils to cutlery, sinks to machine drums, as well as microwave oven liners mainly, use Stainless Steel. One can find different types of products such as Stainless Steel Tube Fittings, Pipe Fittings, Flanges, pipes, Tubes, Fasteners, Sheets, Rods, Bars and so forth are used in different industries. List of typical applications of these Stainless Steel products include: Oil and gas equipments Offshore technology Seawater desalination plants Chemical industry Bridges Storage tanks Medical Industry Civil Engineering Pressure vessels, reactor tanks, and heat exchangers Rotors, impellers and shafts Power plants Petrochemical Shipbuilding industry
Q:Man of Steel vs Superman (1978)?
Well, I haven't seen it Man of Steel but I really see it hard to believe that's better than Superman. To me, Superman with Christopher Reeve is the best movie about Superman ever made. When I first saw it I was amazed. Watching Superman flying for the first time, catching Loise and graving that helicopter before it falls... it was awesome! I loved it! The other movies that followed were bad but this one was amazing. I've seen what other actors have made with the character, but I believe Christopher was the best. He was the perfect man, the perfect gentleman and the best superhero ever. I know that this Superman is for the new generations so it will be more 'real' and more 'suffered' or will have more personal issues dealing with his origins and blah blah blah... and I wish him good luck, but honestly? I stick to the original Superman because whenever I see Christopher Reeve flying around the planet as Superman (hanging from wires-no CGI people!) and I hear that characteristic music I just melt and I'm a child once more. So good luck to the new generation, I really hope they like this new guy and new story, but I'm more than fine with the original version, thank you. Hope it helps! ;)
Q:Would aftermarket steel wheels weigh more than stock jeep wheels?
steel is steel is steel- they will always be heavy you would have to weigh them to find out--NOW if you are going to alloy wheels they are typically aluminum and yes they are lighter -this is good because it lightens your un-sprung weight and is less harmful to your suspension-good for your auto
