Q: i disconnected the power cable to the hard disk and tried to boot,but it booted (through ubuntu live cd).What might be the cause for this problem?I need ur help: If you disconnect the power cable to your hard disk in which your system disk is located, for sure, your system will not boot, it will boot only if you have inserted a bootable cd or other drives, the system will not also detect your hard disk., there will be no activity to your hardisk, because there is no power even the interface cable is connected. Reconnect only the power, when the system has shut down and power ac cable also disconnected.. If your hard disk is new, you need to have a bootable installation cd (such as windows xp), it will boot to the cd, then you can create partitions (if you want), to the new hard disk, then instllation process will continue, just follow if you are prompted..(note that new hardisk normally not formatted and it will not boot or run without installing operating system program on it)

Q: Recently, I purchased two power tools from Craftsman - a 19.2v 1/2drill/driver and a 4.56A angle grinder that look exactly like ones sold by Porter Cable. I don't have links for the drills, but compare pictures of the two grinders below. Other than part of the plastic housing being a different color, you can clearly see that it's the exact same tool.: Craftsman power tools are all made by someone else; Craftsman just puts their name on it. This is not uncommon in the tool business. Most Craftsman power tools are made by TTI based in Hong Kong, the same company that makes many Ryobi, Rigid, Taskforce, Rockwell, and Makita power tools. Porter Cable is a subsidiary of Stanley Black Decker which also owns DeWalt. In this case, I'd say Porter Cable makes the grinder and Craftsman sells a version of it.

Q: So I was trying to run wiring for a 220 outlet and I hit a lower leg with the metal cable snake, now a bunch of outlets loose power for a minute or two ever so often, 20 min give or take. What can be the cause? Only the top breaker tripped. How can this be repaired. Please help.: Would I be right in thinking you sort of tripped on flexible metal conduit in which electric cables run and now the power is intermittent and trips the breaker? I would start by isolating the circuit so it is no longer live and checking the connections at each end of the cable run because any strain on the conduit could have tugged wires out of their terminals. I'd make sure that all the connections were tight and the wires properly anchored and also that each wire is in the correct terminal. I once made a mistake when replacing a socket outlet because the terminals in the new one were the exact opposite of the old one. Luckily, I found it straight away when I tested the circuit. If the connections all look good, I'd check the continuity along each of the cables. It is inconceivable that the cables inside the metal conduit were damaged as they should be continuous cable runs with no joins. The continuity test will tell you if any cable is no longer continuous, but I'd be very surprised as long as the original installation was done properly to code (or wiring regulations in the UK). Obviously, before you start checking the cables, you would unplug or disconnect everything that is connected to them. If the fault only happens when some sort of machine or appliance is connected, then it suggests the fault is with the appliance or machine and not the wiring. A 20 minute cycle of faults makes we wonder whether there is a fridge or a freezer connected the circuit. If so, I'd get it checked for faults and check that the power connection to it is correctly wired. I am not an electrician, just an experienced home owner, so please double check anything I've said. Q: If I buy a PS3 in the US and bring it back to France, if I buy the french power cable and exchange it with the US power cable, will the PS3 work? Q: Can I use 300 v power cable on a cx500?: The cable isn't the issue, it's the power coming from the wall. THat's a 120v/240v power supply. More than that and it's crispy.

And will there be any damage to my face since the wire explodes in my face?: Everything will be fine to turn the switches back on, but you must unplug the cord you were cutting first. If not, you'll hear another loud pop as the breaker switches off. Unplug the cord, then turn the switches back on. Before you plug the tv in, check the cord going to it for burn or charring. If you do not see any, then stand to the side of the tv away from the screen and back, and then plug it in. Be careful. Unplug the cut cord first!!!
