- Q:s there a place that will let you rent vacuum cleaners for like a few hours or a day?

- Q:I've been working on a couple projects in one room in my house. The room really needs to be vacuumed but there is aquarium gravel scattered around as well as a bunch of tiny screws. I have a shark vacuum. There's no threat of puncturing a bag because this vacuum doesn't use a bag - it uses a canister. I could easily empty the canister and then go over the floor with the hose. I'm wondering if it's an ok idea though because I don't want to damage anything in the vacuum. Occasionally, my battery powered aquarium vacuum will suck up a couple pieces of gravel, they'll get stuck, stop the vacuum, and I have to get them out for the vacuum to work again. I don't know how house vacuums work, but I don't want that to happen. If there aren't any mechanical components to be damaged, then I guess the only other worry would be the hose, but the hose on this vacuum feels pretty sturdy, and I would just be vacuuming tiny gravel and tiny, corroded screws - nothing sharp like tacks or nails. What do you guys think?
- The problem with upright vacuum cleaners is the belt drive for the beater bar. The screws will do major damage to the rubber and you'll have to replace it. If you can use the hose without the bar and pick up all of the big stuff then you can vacuum the small gravel and dust as usual.
- Q:Maybe a new brand of high powered vacuum cleaners? Or perhaps a solution to nuclear waste disposal?

- I like the dirt dog. Turn it on and leave and it cleans the floor. It is built to be tough to work in a garage so it doesn't break.

- I really do. I have my parents old hoover, my mum goes through about two a year, and this one she's given us because it was too noisy - and it really is! I'm waiting for her new one, it's a shiny red dyson!
- Q:Okay so I realize how dumb this question sounds. I have severe OCD. You know how a toilet sends particles into the air when you flush it? Well, does the same happen with a vacuum cleaner? Like, if I vacuumed my room, would all the particles on my floor go into the air/onto my stuff? I hate that I need this reassurance-but could somebody please explain to me in detail? - Even with a hepa filter vacuum cleaner, you will get some dust particles too small for the filter to trap, so yes you will get some of the stuff you are trying to vacuum and capture back into the room air. Using the hepa however will make things much better. I live in a house with allergy sufferers and since going to 3-M electrostatic filters in the air handler and getting hepa filter vacuum cleaner, things are much better all around. I am called OCD all the time, but I realize that I am not, but just a bit compulsive; however I am fully aware of the condition and know that you can be miserable and sometimes immobilized, so try these things and see if they might help you.

- As unique and crazy as that sounds, I've never herd of such an activity. If you ask me it sounds rather odd, and pointless. I personally don't like vacuums though, they tend to make a lot of noise pollution and I just can't stand that. But, I guess all people have different things they find to their likings, but this is one thing I'll never understand.

- Yeah take it apart. Nothing will happen. I always take vacuum cleaners apart. Its not hard.

- Get a Roomba robotic floor cleaner. I love mine. It does a great job and really isnt that noisey. Oh, I did I say it does it all by its self.
