Q:Hi,I was wondering why, for example, bike wheels all have (more or less) the same radius. Is it the result of optimizing the laws of physics? I know, for example, that larger wheels cause lower rolling resistance, which is energetically profitable. But would even larger wheels be even more profitable, or is there a limit? And why are car or train wheels smaller?Kind regards, and please support your answer with references to laws of physics.Bib-lost
Bicycle wheels are sized according to the average size of the people using them. Kids have shorter legs than average sized adults and tall people have even longer legs. The wheels are geared to the sprocket so that normal pedaling pace results in reasonable speed. Automobiles have wheels of somewhat different sizes to vary the ground clearance of the vehicle. IDK about RR
Q:Hi I‘m looking for a decent pottery wheel. I don‘t know what would be better- eletric or pump.Anyways, I want to know if there is a certain brand or where I can get it like at Michaels or something. My budget if preffered 60$ and under. Thanks!
12.5 Thats assuming a 1500 watt iron (seems standard after doing a quick internet search) Amps power / volts This is also assuming a 120 Vac system. If the iron is in Europe, they typically use 240 Vac, so the current would be half, or about 6.25 amps.
Q:its makeing a noise from the front lefti dont know if its a wheel bearing.i makes a rubbing/grinding sound eaven when your going 5mph or 50 mphwhat can it be.besides a wheel bearing?
Remove wheel and see. Wheel bearings shouldn't fail under 100K mi. and they make a whining sound when they do. Check for body plastic rubbing wheel. And Lynn's right. Sticking caliper plus worn pads will make noise described. Feel that wheel after driving. Feel hot? Sticking caliper.
Q:I need these wheels for my '76 Camaro.

Q:I have a 2000 audi a4 2.8 quattro and I want to get some after market wheels. The wheels that I want show on one website that they will fit, but on another a rep told me they would be concerned that it wouldn‘t clear the caliper. The tire size on my factory wheel is 205/55/16 and looking online I‘ve found 2 different wheel width sizes for the factory wheels online either a 16x6 or a 16x7. Is there anyway to find out without doubt what the width is? The wheel I want is a 16x7 wheel, I know the bolt pattern matches as both are 5x112 but will the wheel fit without any problems? Also will the factory tire size 205/55/16 fit on the aftermarket wheels? I know the diameter is correct I‘m just not sure about the width.
any 16 inch wheel will fit but it is the offset on a quattro that you need to look at usually 38-45 if they are not guaranteed to fit you need to put the wheel on before you buy smaller offsets will stick out and hit the wheel arches, you can go for 17 inch wheels with 7 , 7.5 or 8 inch rims and 225/45/17 tires
Q:How to judge the wheel position when driving?
Thank you, sitting in the driving position to see out, the location of the lights roughly correspond to the two front wheels, not familiar with the beginning of the engine can be affixed to the two signs and then take a car on the back, a few minutes to remember.
Q:Which vehicle is better on snowy, and / or icy roads? Front wheel drive, all wheel drive. or 4 wheel drive??
Trans coolers are used on automatics, there is no reason to use one on a manual. Come to think of it you can't, manual transmissions don't use pressure like autos, it will not circulate plus where would you tap in for the inlet and outlet? Makes no sense, save your money and be careful what you do or you will eventually mess up your car man.
Q:How do you get the tires?
Easy to penetrate the tires of foreign matter, including nails, screws, wire, glass fragments, sharp stones, tiles and so on. Among these foreign bodies, nails and screws are most likely to pierce the tire, resulting in tire leaks, but also inserted in the tire damage, not timely clean up, it may exacerbate the damage to the damaged parts of the tire. Check the method: the tires tied to the foreign body, we only carefully observe the tire surface can be found. If the parts of the foreign body is more subtle, we can also sprinkle water on the surface of the tire, find the place where the bubbles emerge, and sometimes even hear the "hissing" of the gas.
Q:when i skate on the road outside my house it is a very bumby ride (like a free foot vibration massage) and i go really slow my bearings arre bad and they are abec 3 is it my bearings or my wheels
WD-40 was designed to displace water (wdwater displacement). It is an extremely light oil that can mix with water. It will work on skate bearings, if you want to use it every couple times you go out. Some racers use it and give every bearing a shot of it every time they skate. Almost anything will work in skate bearings but the general rule is the lighter it is, the more often you have to use it. Any of the spray materials are extremly light. A light machine oil will work well and you can get it in most hardware stores or hobby shops. It is really convenient if you get it in a needle oiler which is a narrow bottle with a long thin metal tip that is designed for getting the oil in small spots. You only want about 1/2 drop of oil in a bearing. For longer life, you can go with a gel or very light grease. About 3 pin head spots of grease or gell are about all you need if they are placed centered on a race.
