- Q: This is not a stupid question, I am curious to know. I was ironing a dress shirt this morning and I dropped the iron. My question: Do irons contain toxins in them that may have been released, such as mercury since it is something that requires time to heat? Will I be ok and the room be ok? Inquring serious answers please

If you end up having to take an iron supplement, I recommend either carbonyl iron or heme iron polypetide. These types of iron are much easier on your digestive tract, causing much less or no gas and constipation. Heme iron polypeptide is the best, but it's quite expensive. Carbonyl iron is almost as good, and cheaper.

- It's possible to overdose literally anything, but it takes a lot to overdose on something like iron. You're probably fine. It's more common for people to not get enough iron. I would only be worried if you took a lot of vitamins that have iron in them.
