Q: Out of the blue, my main bathroom that guests primarily use starting having an earthy smell coming from the sink drain. Its on the main floor, and there are no floors above it (in other words, not another sink above it). I examined the plumbing under the sink, and everything seems to be in working order, no leaks, trap is in good shape, etc.What should I do here?: suggest that the trap is siphoning dry ,there should normally be no smell if the trap stays full of liquid at all times, unless you have a leak in the vent line.

Q: So my bathroom sink is really clogged. There's a small pool of water in my sink that won't drain at all. I dumped boiling water down the overflow hole but that didn't do anything. I used a plunger on the hole in the sink which still didn't do anything. I've used a bent hanger w/ a hook on the end to get out stuff from it but there's nothing else getting stuck on the hanger. I don't have a snake or anything to use. Is there a way I can get the water to drain at least long enough to get drain-o. And even then, if the water doesn't drain in that time, will drain-o still get through the pipes when there's water in it. Please help me out here. Thank you so much. &lt;3: There are a couple of answers here, yes a liquid drain opener will sink to where the clog is since the liquid is heavier than water, but that method uses corrosive liquid and might temporarily solve the problem but may cause problems in the future. The better solution is to drain the trap under the sink. Every sink is required to have a trap, and there should be a drain plug in it. Be sure to have a pail large enough to catch the water under neath before you start to loosen the drain plug. If it is a P-trap you should be able to remove a section once it is drained and remove the plug in the sink drain and you should be able to find the cause of the clog. Good luck!

Q: They are pretty much tiny people..: That's a really racist thing to say there and you're being rather stereotypical. Just because quite a few may be tiny does not mean that they all are. Have you seen Yao Ming? Is he tiny? Would he fit in a sink? Educate yourself because you say something else stupid because what in your head made you think anyone other than maybe a baby or a pet would fit in a sink?

Q: how to unglue a bathroom sink from the wall?: ben, bathroom sinks are generally hung to the wall using a metal support bracket. remove any silicone around the sink's perimeter. remove water and drain connections, simply pry sink upward and it shall come off - drywall and or surface texture might come off as well so use care -

Q: Our house was built in the 1950's. I am almost 100% sure that the sink in the bathroom is original to the house. It is off white with gold marbled in. Pretty sure it is not porcelin. Feels almost plastic. It is a sink/counter, one piece unit. I don't have the $$ to go buy a new one, but this one is an eye sore. Help!: ok, i dont recomend it, but they sale an epoxy paint kit that works well on tile pocelin etc. there are several problems though. first of all, on an area like a sink that gets heavy use, i have very little confidence that the stuff will hold up. i do feel it works like on wall tile or whatever. but a tub or a sink...i dunno. i have used it before on old bathrooms on the tile and been very happy with results. the other problem is, it takes two to three days to do it right. you have to sand the area, apply a pre thing-a-ma-jig, let that set up, sand, paint, let that set up, sand, and re apply. if you want to give it a try, they sell epoxy paint for tile at any good hardware store. give it a try and let me know! i think the kit is about 20 bux or so. GL with it. i have had great results with this stuff on wall tile and it may be a good temp fix for you too. they sale it saying you can do tubs and sinks...but i have doubts due to usage, but check it out. epoxy paint refinishing kit.

Q: This is the type of stopper you push down/pull up to drain or keep water in the sink. I,ve pulled,pushed & twisted, it wont come loose to drain. its stuck in the drain, wont drain.: extremely tough thing. look on google or bing. this might help!

Q: Our bathroom sink gets clogged too easily so I wanted to know some ways to unclog it quickly.: Yes, remove the p-trap. Maybe it is enough to clean the pop-up with tweezers. If your sink has a pop-up replace it with a strainer then you will nomore have a clogged sink. I replaced all my pop-ups with strainers.

Q: I have hot water everywhere else in the house the master bathroom has two sink and both of them have cold water but when I turn to the hot water nothing happens in either..the bathroom is upstairs over the hot weather heater and the temps here have been 2 below o, not sure if that matters..thanks!: This might sound silly, but have you checked underneath the sink to make sure that the two pipes leading up to it are turned on. The hot water one might be off.
