Q:My check engine light wont go away. I‘ve been told by two different garage‘s that I have to replace some sort of code or something to get it working again. I know theres nothing wrong with the car so I‘m not too worried about it, but I still want to know. Anyone else have this problem?

Q:I have sony 6x9‘s and 6 1/2 for speakers which are hooked up to the amp that came with the car. i also have 2 12‘ Infinty‘s with a rockford 8 gauge amp kit and p-400 amp. the dealer i got them installed at said i do not need one but my speedometer lights go off and on when they want?? need a little help please!? thanks

Sounds like you just need to upgrade to a better car battery. Make sure you get a good one tho because if you get a cheap one your lights will still dim.

Q:i have a fuel leak on my 306 hdi and know its because the in-tank fuel pump has been inserted wrongly, crossthreading the tank. i also have a warning light on my dashboard - the auto-diagnostics light. the manual says this indicates a problem with the furl injection system.would the fuel fuel leak caused by the incorrectly situated lift pump make this warning light appear. the car still runs ok (although leaking).

The light says that you are leaking fuel into the atmosphere rather than burning it. Usually this happens when a personfills the car with the engine running or leaves the gas cap loose. In your case, there may be a fuel injection problem, but I will bet that this bad fuel pump installation would cause the light to come on.

Q:Hey gear-heads, I have a regular ‘00 Civic VP and the check engine light turned on a week ago. I just did an oil change and I reset the light by unplugging the battery for a couple minutes but the light came on after a couple hours of driving. Lately it seems I have been losing gas mileage. I don‘t know if it is the cold weather (Wisconsin) or something is wrong with the car like the O2 sensor or what not. The gas cap is on tight, so that‘s not the problem. What is your guys‘ take on the problem. Thanks in advance.

These Honda Si ECUs are not that complicated. Usually the check engine light is associated with the emission problems like cylinder not firing, bad spark plugs, clogged fuel injectors, O2 sensor malfunction, or problem with Catalytic converter. I would change the spark plugs first, and go from there. Also driving with Check engine light would damage the Catalytic converter. so would minimize the driving.

Q:What would cause the head lights to go off for a second and then come back on again. I also have a prob with high beams as well. When there on, they will go off after a short while of use.

Pure drive, i would consider it very head light. Head light i prefer for head acceleration in addition to control. However when i feel like just pounding the ball with ease i prefer a head heavy racquet. Head light also has easier mobility around the net which i prefer. Male

Q:My air bag light has been on in my BMW for a couple years now. It‘s really bothering me. The air bags have never been blown. The rear drivers side door was hit and I had a used door put on to replace it. The original rear door did not have air bags, the replacement door has a spot for an air bag, but no air bag in it. Do you think this caused a false air bag light because there isn‘t an airbag in the door?

Sometimes women with really big knockers sit too close to the wheel and trigger airbag lights. [I totally just made that up.but it's pretty funny] No.if there was no sensor there before (i.e. no air bag) it's not going to trigger the light with it missing. It's probably just a bunk sensor and/or boobs.

Q:The car lights are bright and the engine does not come

The engine is not easy to start the battery is generally caused by the lack of electricity, and the big light that the battery has electricity, there may be a starter suction switch contact bad or low starting speed caused by the start of the recommended maintenance machine Thank you

Q:My ABS light is on constantly and the emergency brake light comes on every so often but does not stay on constantly. I scanned the code at Advanced Auto which came up as C1276 left front release valve solenoid malfunction. Does anyone have any clue what may be causing this? Thanks!

I doubt any Advance Auto store has a clue when it comes to the ABS brake system. They all just have OBD II code readers where I live. If they do have a $2,500 scan tool where you live that code means you need to replace the ABS control unit that has the pump and solenoids in it. Probably a $1200 repair. I'd go to the dealer first before going any farther. At least you'll have a real mechanic diagnose it instead of a sales clerk!! By the way it is not dangerous, you'll just need to pump the brakes to slow down if skidding in the snow since the ABS brakes don't work.

Q:This morning my Highlander (has about 80,000 miles on it) started beeping at me ((the noise when you leave a door open, or don‘t have your seatbelt on). I looked and my gas light is on. Underneath it, it says Fuel Door. It‘s also now making a kind of rumbling bumping noise whenever I start or turn off the engine, and it stalled a bit when I tried to drive out of a parking lot.I have three quarters of a tank and I unscrewed/rescrewed the gas cap on and it still says it. The last time I touched the fuel door (before today) was last Thursday when my mom and I got gas together- and it‘s worked fine this entire week, so I know I didn‘t leave it unscrewed or damage it in any way. I haven‘t noticed that my gas has been getting used up any faster than normal, so I don‘t think it‘s leaking.Do I need to get to an auto repair shop ASAP? Can it wait a day? What‘s wrong with my car?

You can wait till you are sure that your fuel is low .
