- Q: I know absolutely nothing about cars. My AC stopped working, I had a new air compressor, drier, expansion valve put on. It was also vacuumed out. Problem is it will not take a recharge, and there is no refrigerant in it at all. But it keeps reading high pressure, I don't know the readings I was told it is reading high, and will not take a recharge. Someone on yahoo answers suggested it might be the Schrader valve is this a problem that it can cause if it's bad that it will not let you recharge, and read a high pressure reading? Is there a Schrader valve for the low pressure valve amp; the high pressure valve or is there just one? I have a 96 Dodge Stratus ES. Thank you for any help or ideas.
- 2 valve 1 low 1 high the valve is cheap (looks like the same as one that goes in a bicycle innertube) but if a shop puts it the labor price for your area, here around 75.00 this dont make sense. to have high pressure there has to be something in the lines. and the valve would be open to give you a reading so unless its leaking its working. with a vac on it and 0 134a you should have a reading of -20(+or-) in of mercury on the low side (below 0) and 0 on the high side. If the high side valve was not depressed (opened) then you would have the can pressure reading (about 80psi depend on temp) only if you tried to fill from the high side. Ok try this find the line going to the firewall and inside the car, this is the low (return) line. dont use the one that goes to condenser at the front of the car (the radiator looking one). find the fill valve and thread on the fitting (may have a cap on it) tighten the fitting until it is tight then use a pair of pliers and turn 1/8-1/4 turn more then try to fill.

- The first step is to realize that you need a professional to work on your truck. This is good. By gas valves I assume you mean fuel injectors. But since you did not know that name it would appear as you have not had your truck properly diagnosed. Sounds like you're not getting fuel? spark? air? compression? in five cylinders in your 4.3-W six cylinder. Might want to find out why. Call around and ask whoever answers the phone if you can speak to an ASE Certified tech. If you talk to one then you have probably found a shop to which it would be worth taking the S10.

- I suggest that you rethink that application. Even if the valve does function it might not pass enough slurry quickly enough to relieve the pressure overload.
- Q: I acquired an old valve guitar amp not long ago and i think it needs new valves trouble is the valves that are in it have no writing left on them and there is one valve completely missing how can i find out what type of valves to put in it. Could i use a multi meter to see what voltage etc is going into the valve socket and then find a valve with matching voltage. Thanks for your help Marc
- I never considered VOX a crunchy amp, has more of a jangle sound to me. Not sure what wattage you are looking for. In my opinion you don't need many watts in a class A tube amp. I heard an Orange Tiny Terror through a Marshall cabinet recently and it was awesome. I am considering that head with the Orange 2 x 12 cabinet. That head is only 15 watts but man is it loud...and crunchy.
- Q: I've been working on cars since around march of 2012. I new. I have a set of 305 heads that were really dirty. It came from a 79 camaro that never had an Oil change. I took the valves out and the valves are pretty burnt. I was wondering If I cleaned them up would they still be good to use? The edges aren't rough or anything. - Not really. If you got the head off, you should replace them.
- Q: This is my first tranny install and there is one thing that i really think i f'd up on. I'v been installing a junk yard 700r4 and transfer case into this beater 1990 k1500. Everything is in i'm just waiting on a new throttle valve cable (detent cable) to put it. But me, being my first tranny install, thought that the piece inside of the transmission that the detent cable attatches too.....came out. which i later found out that it doesn't, and that the TV cable just connects to it. I yanked on it pretty good with some pliers, and it never came out, and it still moves up and down. My question is could i have done some serious damage to that peice and the throttle valve itself???? let me know what u think.... thanks!
- The only thing i can think you could have done i bent the peice that comes out of the trans. If the throttle valve still returns like a spring when you pull it with your fingers and you can still hook the tv cable to it it should be fine. unhook the tv cable at the carb or throttle body to hook it to the valve then hook it back to the carb or throttle body.

- okay your gonna look at your intake manifold. Then locate where your air intake connects to the throttle body. Look around the throttle body and you should see the egr valve it will be hidden by your air intake but if you look hard enough you'll find it and also if you see in vacuum lines running around there, they will point you in the right direction because your egr valve has two vacuum lines that run to it. hopefully that helps.
- Q: How hard would it be to fix an EGR valve on a 1990 Geo Storm that is stuck open? if not fixable, how much would it cost to replace it, or have it replaced by a professional?
