- If you are into street skating, then harder wheels are probably better. I personally ride the same wheels every time. I get new wheels like once every couple months. I buy Bones Party Pack wheels. The hardness is their STF which stands for Street Tech Formula. I love the STF formula because i can get a brand new set and as soon as i set them up, my body remembers exactly what the hardness feels like when I do power slides on the ground. They never flat spot but sometimes if you hit stuff like screws or rocks they will chip on the sides. Long story short, as long as you add something for the beneficial bacteria to colonize on then removing the wheel is fine. Most filters don't even have it so it obviously isn't that necessary.
