Q: I just got my transmission fluid drained and refilled. I wanted to put some Lucas transmission Fix in afterwards but the mechanic put another kind in already. Q: I came across their website, they say it will not only help with the environment but also add gas milage to your current vehicle. (some by 22%+) Is this worth investing in? If you have any info, let me know what your experience has been with Ethos. :): Don't forget that the fuel pump is located in the gas tank.some additives can shorten its life. Fuel injection cleaners have been known to do this.so they limit how concentrated they can be so that the company won't be buying new fuel pumps and gas tanks for everyone. Try a Motorvac (brand) engine decarbonizer treatment at a local shop that has oneremoving carbon from the engine always increases gas milage on vehicles with over 80,000 miles on them. Basically, the treatment bypasses the gas tank and fuel pump, and is pumped from a separate tank directly into the fuel rail so that the concentration can be high enough to do some good without damaging the fuel system. As for the miracle additiveMTBE works, but is quite murderous to the water table.leaded fuel burns great, but can be rather nasty, too. lol.
