● Water retention: CMC is a water binder, helps increase shelf life of food.
● Suspending aid: CMC acts as emulsifier and suspension stabilizer, particularly in icings to control ice crystal size.
● Film forming: CMC can produce a film on the surface of fried food, eg. Instant noodle, and prevent absorption of excessive vegetable oil.
● Chemical stability: CMC is resistant to heat, light, mold and commonly used chemicals.
● Physiologically inert: CMC as a food additive has no caloric value and can not be metabolized.

Q: What is the best engine oil for the Porsche Boxster & what is the best gas additive boost to use & freguency ?
Mobil 1 is quickly turning to junk. They're eliminating zinc and phosphate from the oil. This will prevent burnt oil from ruining the catalytic converter, which helps emissions. Trouble is that zinc and phosphate are important in preventing engine wear. They've lost an important oil service classification (what oil is right for what application). I'll be looking elsewhere for oil when I change it in my Porsche this spring. I would recommend looking into Redline engine oil. Check your manual for the specified grade (I know that older Porsches love thick oil, like a 20-50 in summer, not sure on the new stuff.) No affiliation, but their transmission oil worked wonders in my car. It's a little more expensive than Mobil 1, though, and you can't find it anywhere. You'll likely need to mail-order. Gas additive- only Chevron Techron injector cleaner. Anything else is snake oil. Additives are not magic. Even Techron doesn't prevent the need to pull and clean injectors at a major service. It's more important to use the recommended octane gasoline, as that will prevent detonation (fuel igniting before it should) and permit your engine to make full power.
Q: is food with added additives, preservatives dangerous to health ?
No .Food is always kept for long periods with safe preservatives like salt or alcohol .I have been eating pickles two years old for the few decades.
Q: what does an additive meanor how do additives affect plant growth
An additive is something extra. For instance, fluoride is a common additive to water.can affect plant growth, by giving extra things that the plants either may need in order to grow (aiding plant growth), or that can act as poison for the plants (inhibiting plant growth). For instance, adding salt to water, making salt water, can kill certain grasses - but can aid the growth of other grasses (depending on what salt was added).
Q: ok im doing a report on food additives and was wondering if you knew some names or good website for this. i mean additives like KFC inject into their chicks to make them bigger. or Monsanto (think that was it) inject into their cows to make them produce more milk. anything to do with animals thanks
Some used to use diethylstilbestrol (DES), but they stopped that around 1960 because it caused cancer in women. Since then it has been illegal to use hormones or steroids in chicken at all. They might be using other kinds of additives now, but none that I know of, sorry. However, one thing to look out for lately has been genetic modification to chickens to make them grow larger and quicker.
Q: I have a transmission leak and cant afford to have it repaired.
Stop leak in a transmission full of tiny fluid passageways. That's a pretty sure way of clogging the complete transmission causing you to have to replace it. Fixing the leak would be the least expensive course of action.
Q: are fuel system cleaners, and engine addatives good or do more harm to your car? I‘ve used both the engine oil addative seemed to make may car accelerate slower and feel kinda boggy?
Reducing Gas Prices We can reduce gas prices, and in many cases reduce our expenses in other areas, by reducing the demand for petroleum products. How do we reduce demand? Easy. Reduce consumption. Here are some suggestions on how to do that: 1. Make sure your tires are properly inflated. Improperly inflated tires reduce gas mileage. Most tires should be inflated to 32-35 psi, but look on your tires for specific numbers. 2. Make sure your engine is properly tuned. An out of tune engine wastes gas and money. Have it checked. 3. When you stop at a stop light, stay stopped until the light is green. Don’t try to ease up a little at a time – this not only wastes gas, but wears out your brakes sooner than normal. 4. Accelerate slowly. Rapid acceleration (“jack rabbit starts”) wastes gas. 5. Use synthetic oil whenever you change or have your oil changed. Since it’s synthetic, you are not using a petroleum product therefore you are reducing demand. Most cars actually get better gas mileage with synthetic oil, so it’s a win win. 6. Whenever possible, use alternative fuels such as biodiesel or E85. They not only reduce petroleum consumption, but they are cheaper and better for the environment. Unfortunately, they are not widely available yet in most places, but start asking about them when you buy gas and fuel distributors will begin to get the message; if they think there is a market, they will supply that market. 7. Don’t rush out to buy a new car… but if you are in the market for one anyway, consider buying a more fuel efficient car or even a hybrid car. Hybrid cars are more expensive but you can get a federal tax credit which will offset much of the extra expense and if you do a lot of driving, the money you save on gas will offset the rest. 8. Carpool.
Q: I won a HERO HONDA HUNK. recently i have found the using additive (ad on) is giving me a gr8 mileage. . bt i want to make sure that does this harm my bike‘s engine ?
If its new I wouldnt, but you can as long as you use a good one and follow directions. Most of the time it wont damage an engine but any additives are never recommended by the manufacturer, I use them in my cars all the time and they run good
Q: How many additives are there in yogurt
Suddenly I suspect that these theories are not to buy Soymilk come out. re is also a theory that the absorption of yogurt than yogurt better, because the yogurt inside the lactic acid bacteria more beneficial intestinal absorption. I admit that I have never seen any time to buy yogurt ingredients, all by impression to buy, that white is that advertising is done, which you feel good quality, to buy which. But there are no additives inside the yogurt, and now people are increasingly concerned about health, more and more attention to the problem of food additives. I am now very calm when the supermarket, want to buy a thing when they will take up to see the ingredients, if the additive too much to put down do not buy, of course, no additives, too little things, resulting in a time I went to the supermarket Buy snacks, and finally took only a pack of rice. The The Think about me is not obsessive-compulsive disorder ah! Fructose syrup is starchy sugar crystals made from plant starch hydrolysis and isomerization, and is an important sweetener. Production of fructose syrup from regional and seasonal restrictions, the equipment is relatively simple, low investment costs. Because its composition is mainly fructose and glucose; so called "fructose syrup." It seems no harm acetylated two starch phosphate that white is thickener, stabilizer, coagulant.
Q: What are the main food additives
Sweeteners are sweeteners that give food to sweetness. Commonly used are: sodium saccharin (that is, people used to call the saccharin), sodium cyclohexyl sulfamate (sodium cyclamate), maltitol, sorbitol, xylitol and so on. There are a lot of foods that use sweeteners. Like: beverages, pickles, pastries, biscuits, bread, ice cream, candied fruit, candy, seasonings, canned meat and other daily life is almost common food will add different types of sweeteners.
Q: I know in 2008 they removed this claim from the package so now I am not sure. Is it still additive free tobacco in these cigarettes?I know that they are FSM so have to have some chemicals in the paper but I‘m talking to actually tobacco.
This is the beer, wine and spirits area and your question has nothing to do with any of these. Try asking it in a more appropriate area and you'll stand a better chance of getting a worthwhile answer.
