Function:
● Thickening: CMC can produce high viscosity at low concentration. It also acts as lubricant.
● Water retention: CMC is a water binder, helps increase shelf life of food.
● Suspending aid: CMC acts as emulsifier and suspension stabilizer, particularly in icings to control ice crystal size.
● Film forming: CMC can produce a film on the surface of fried food, eg. Instant noodle, and prevent absorption of excessive vegetable oil.
● Chemical stability: CMC is resistant to heat, light, mold and commonly used chemicals.
● Physiologically inert: CMC as a food additive has no caloric value and can not be metabolized.

- Neither. They are not good or bad for the engine. They are however a complete waste of money and bad for your wallet.

- If it ain't broke don't fix it. If your tranny has debris the filter screen will catch it. If the filter screen becomes clogged and needs replacing you will have problems with your car shifting or fully engaging in gear. Why spend money and time on a problem that don't exist?

- Marvel Mystery Oil fuel additive is the best i've found, I live in S. Florida also and thats what I run in both my vehicles. Its sold pretty much at any auto parts store

- There are different additives for different things. Antioxidants to reduce thermal and mechanical decomposition. These are usually sterically hindered phenols and thiophenols. Thickeners which are usually lithium salts of fatty acids. Friction reducers which include P2S5 and various fatty acid thiophoshate esters. Corrosion inhibitors such as imidazolines.

- diff oil additives usually are for problem diffs unless stated in service requirements. diff additive is added to free up the diff if when turning corners the inner wheel skips so to speak meaning the inner wheel is turning at the same ratio as the outer wheel.

- Since you ride every day (lucky you) there is no need for Sta-Bil. I use Sta-Bil because I store my motorcycles for upwards of 5 months a year (unlucky me). Instead of Sta-Bil, run some Chevron Techron into the gas once or twice a year. Helps remove deposits in the carburetor or fuel injection system. Good Luck

I‘ve put Chevron fuel system cleaner in the tank once or twice. I use a basic Meguiars car wash liquid and then their Gold Class Liquid Wax. Because I drive very little and have the car covered up most of the time I only washwax like once or twice a year. The paint‘s still very glossy and no oxidation or fading is obvious.Is there anything else I could and should do?
- I think you're doing all the right things, except the Chevon fuel system cleaner is probably a waste of money. Most fuel additives are not needed, but Sta-Bil has proven effective in long storage situations.
