Q:How many solar panels would I need to power my washer machine?
Solar panels produce power in proportion to the amount of sun light and inverse proportion to the temperature. To use solar power you will need in addition to the panels a bank of batteries a charge controller and an inverter to convert to 20v. The panel(s) will only be used to recharge the batteries and the batteries connected to the inverter is what is going to run your washing machine. You therefore need to know how long is the machine going to run, how often and how much charging can you expect to get from each panel in order to figure out how many panels you will need and how many batteries. If you do only one load very infrequenly, you will be able to use a smaller battery bank and charge at a lower rate.
Q:Any tips for protecting my solar panel from high winds?
Solar panels are a costly and significant investment. Therefore, protecting them from harm should be a top priority. Unfortunately, moisture and water are common ways for solar panels to become damaged or broken. Safekeeping solar panels from both of these threats is a simple, inexpensive procedure, and doing so might save the solar panel owner a bundle if carried out correctly Instructions : Set a thick strip of silicone between each cell when putting the solar panel together, in order to prevent moisture seepage. 2: Use Plexiglas instead of glass as the face of your solar panel. Plexiglas is less liable to break and therefore safe from hailstorms or accidents. 3: Glue adhesive silicone to each side of your solar panel(s), adding additional sealant and protection from water to your commodity. :)
Q:anybody owns a house solar panel system does it really save you money on electricity?
There is this really cool book that i just bought and im actually starting to make a couple of things you go on this website and follow the link you wont regret it, i promise i'm saving literally hundreds
Q:how do solar photovoltaic panels work?
Hey E Girl, photovoltiac panels are pretty simple. They start with a solid block of silicone, and shave thin layers off of them, called wafers. Once you have about 72 of them, you take half of them and dope them with boron, then the other half are doped with phosphorous. Once that's done, they take one each phosphorous and boron wafer, and glue them together with a special conductive epoxy glue, and attach a wire to each wafer. When the two glued wafers are exposed to the sun, a reaction occurs that forces free electrons from the silicone particles from one wafer onto the other, and a voltage is generated between them, about /2 volt to be exact. Once all 36 pairs are glued together, they are wired in series, connecting the phosphourous wafer from one to the boron wafer on the next, and so on. If you start with 72 wafers, you'll have 36 pairs glued together when you are done. At /2 volt each, that makes a 8 volt panel, which is used to charge a 2 volt battery. The charging source always has to have a few more volts than the battery. These 36 pairs of cells are then arranged on some kind of back board, glued down, covered with acrylic glass and mounted in a frame. There are some great websites you can go to for more info, I will list some below. Did you know that there are over 00,000 homes and businesses in the US alone that use some level of solar power to operate their electrical systems? That's good news. We actually live in one of those homes, it is powered by both the wind and sun and heated with solar and wood. I hope this answers your question, good luck, and take care, Rudydoo
Q:Solar power panels?
Call a local solar company (a company that sells and installs solar panels). If you're having trouble finding one, you can call your local power company and they'll probably know of some. Have them come to your house and take a look at the panels and figure out what it would take to complete the installation.
Q:How much money does it cost to make ONE solar panel?
If okorder.com/.. Low-cost crystalline panel manufacturers such as Suntech are believed to have costs in the $.50/watt range today - making it $300 for a 200-watt panel. That doesn't mean that one can buy a panel for that price, of course. If you mean a DIY panel from purchased solar cells, the cost would be closer to $360 for an equivalent-powered panel, not counting the price of the frame, and the labor. A homebuilt panel would not stand up to decades of weather unless one spent even more on the frame. And since such a panel would not have safety certification, it could not legally be connected to the grid in most places. If you meant a water heating panel, please update or post another question - I'm sure people will chime in.
Q:Solar panel connectionI
You should probably ask this in the electronics section.
Q:Are solar panels affordable?
I don't think you can get a government grant? At least not just yet... But, you can get a nice Tax break for having installed solar panels on your home or for some their backyard works well. But, again you must be aware that having professionals install these panels can be quite costly. If you don't mind getting your hands a little dirty, tackling this project on your own isn't as hard as you might think! And you will be amazed at how much money you can save from the start. And if you get the family involved all the better! Building affordable solar panels for your home, is no pipe dream...But, you must be willing to do the work yourself! That's usually where most people fall short.
Q:What minerals are used in making solar panels?
Not minerals. Elements. Silicon. Found everywhere. Group III elements for doping. Group V elements for doping.
Q:making your own and installing solar panels. Bull s*** or not?
go with wind power
