- Yes you can.. Use it to charge a 2 volt battery then use the battery power to run a 2 volt halogen bulb. Would be much better to power some LED's with the battery -- just as much light but will last longer.

- If it says STC or Standard Test Conditions on the nameplate or documentation, then that means 80 watts under bright sun at an unrealistically cool temperature. It is rare to see that power in real life, except when the perfect storm of conditions come together. There is also a PTC rating for some panels, which is more realistic. If the panel does not say STC or PTC, the manufacturer is free to make up whatever test they feel like, which generally leads to ridiculously overstated power. As for efficiency, for residential panels, that's generally only of academic interest. A 80-watt panel is 80 watts, regardless of the efficiency. A more efficient panel will take up slightly less space, but most people are more interested in the total price, since roof space is generally not an issue.

- It means that it will produce (at best) 5kW when the sun is shining in an ideal position, in hour that's 5kWh so, on a good summer day it may produce a total of 25kWh nothing at night see the link for a 5kW system, you need at least 0 possibly 20 times that.

- Are you going to have anything else on electric? Water heater, Stove, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Washing machine, lights, fans, or a barn with lights and possible water heaters for winter? If so, you may need a lot more panels than that. We use 6.8 kW of panels in a place not known for sunny days, and do all right, but sometimes have to be careful if it is cloudy for many days in a row. You may be able to get by with about half of that if you live in a sunny, southern clime. Good luck - there are lots of non electric options for other (non-laptop) appliances, so you could cut back on other stuff as well.

- it's possible, but the oil company don't want you to, besides solar-powered cars need to be quite big to have those panels mounted on to provide the needed power, thus it'll take up alot of space on the road. they can't be as powerful as gas-powered cars in terms of speed hauling power. maybe they should make 2-seaters for city users, that'll cut down on the pollution ease up the gas prices. of course, they can make a hybrid car that uses an alternative power, like gas/solar or dry cell/solar to solve the problem... parking-meters with a power-plugs for you to recharge while you park.
