Q:How do you set up 30w solar panel?
With a 30 watt panel, producing about 2 amps, your not going to have much power from that. A 22 AH battery will give you 2 AH of usage. A battery should never be drained below 50%. What this works out to be is simply Amp draw for 2 hours. Which equals to 2V light bulb that draws amp for 2 hours. Not much. Now to replace that usage with your 30 watt panel, provided the panel is clean and in max sunlight, it will take 6 hours. If you attach an inverter to your system for 5 Volt Usage then the DC voltage drawn from the battery is very high. Example: Say you use a 5 Volt component that requires 50 Watts per hour to operate. The inverter will draw 5 Amps out of the Battery every hour to operate that component. That gives you and /2 of use before the battery is down to 50%.. Maybe that will be enough to charge up a standard Laptop battery. I have 2 30 Watt panels that produce 5 Amps, 4 6V batteries that have 480 AH and a 25 Amp Controller with a booster that increase the amp output to 20 Amps per hour. I live full time in an RV and raise the panels to get max output when I am parked. This system provides me with all the 5V throught the 500 Watt inverter that I need. Good luck on you system.
Q:Solar Panel Efficiency?
I've operated a 25 kilowatt (kw) solar panel system for two years (44 panels, rated at 90 watts each, just about like yours). It averages 0 kilowatt hours (kwh) per day, but clear days get about 60 kwh. My system generates about 3300 kwh per month (we dump directly to grid), worth about $4,000 per year. Payback for my system, which cost $00,000 (after utility rebates and tax credits), is 25 years (the expected lifetime, coincidentally). Under similar conditions, your 200 watt solar panel would average 820 watt-hours per day, or about 25 kwh per month, worth $2.50.
Q:how to charge phone with solar panel?
see u have to make ur own ckt for this ur solar panel generate DC if u want to charge ur phine then its convenient way to harge with ur charger for this do this search for net to convert DC-AC convertor since ur charger work on AC so when ur solar panel generate DC it convert into AC that will charge ur phone in ckt u need this thing filter and amp ie the DC voltage come from solar panel 2 DC to AC convertor 3 AMP for AC 4 filter for AC and u are done....... fine ckt from google.....
Q:How can I make a sun tracker for a solar panel?
tbls0 has a good idea for the tracker, but let's take this one step farther. A clock motor large enough to move a solar panel, unless it is a very small one is going to be large, and expensive. Use the timer motor, as suggested, but attach a slotted disk to it, with a light source on one side, and a detector on the other side. As each slot comes up and allows light to pass through, this creates a one shot pulse which is used to cause a stepper motor to move position to keep the panel aimed at the sun. At the end of the panel travel for the end of the day, a switch could be set to close, bypassing the step control to put the motor into full constant speed reverse, this causing the panel to swing back to the morning position. The whole affair gets it's start up call by means of a light detector, similar to those used to turn lights off at sun up. The control would, of course be set to turn the system on to track the sun during the day. While some digital control is going to be needed, the system would not need a computer to run it.
Q:What about solar panels?
This is a site that can help you estimate the size and number of panels that will power what you intend to provide for. There are plenty of sites selling the panels, so compare prices. Also, check whether your state is offering the rebate like the state of CA is and what the restrictions, terms and conditions are. Even with the rebates they are very costly, so be certain to calculate the pay off period for your application to see whether it is a cost efficient option for your energy usage.
Q:Solar Panel Circuit Question?
There is no ampere output listed for the solar panel. There is specs indicating the relay has a 200 ohm coil. This means the current required for the relay is 0 ma. The solar panel should supply that much. Check the resistance of the relay coil. It sounds like you have the relay coil in series with another resistance, such as a loose connection or a corroded connection. If you can, disconnect the wires from the solar panel and twist the two wires connected to the relay coil, and read the resistance of the two wires connected at on end. A high resistance will indicate a problem in the wires. TexMav
Q:What do you know about solar panels?
Solar panels are made up of lots of solar cells. They don't give loads of energy. A line goes around the cells and... that's all I know lol
Q:What direction do solar panels usually point?
I can't believe how many people posted wrong answers to this. Where are they looking? What are they thinking? In the northern hemisphere, solar panels are ALWAYS oriented due south. In the southern hemisphere, face them due north. I am typing on a computer that is running on a solar electric system that supplies my whole house. Been this way for years. So it works.
Q:Solar panel question..?
Little solar panels on lights are very low power. The battery in one such may be 0.5 Amp-hours and .2 V ; it may be different but it should be marked on the panel/battery/manual. An outlet in your house is designed to run on 20 V (typically in N. Am.) and they run on alternating current (AC) whereas the panel generates direct current (DC). (If you don't know the difference, do not worry to much but just understand that they are not directly compatible.) You therefore need an inverter to change DC to AC (and lose some although inverters are now very efficient). But the amount of power generated by those panels is still very small. That is why solar lights are low power (just a few watts in most cases). To make things even more irritating, phone chargers do not work off 20 V AC as you are charging the battery and need a low voltage DC -- which is what the solar panel is giving you. It is almost certain that the voltage from the panel will be less than the voltage required for the phone. The charger is mostly cable but there is a black box incorporated and it should say what the voltage and current output are (the input will be 20V). So you should be able to overcome this not by hooking up the panel to a 20V outlet and then plugging the charger in but by hooking up the panel to the phone directly if you can get enough voltage out of the solar panel (or hook up several) and if you fashion a connection device. They already make them -- solar battery chargers and I am sure you can enter that into a search engine and find loads. Typically the panel alone is much more than a solar light -- which shows the relative power requirements.
