if you have worked in engineering consultancy, can you please tell me what are the typical projects you take and what exactly you do to help different firmswhy cant the firms do that stuff themselves , why do they need you badly ?

I do electrical engineering and do consulting for companies for the design of electrical systems of new plants. What my company and I do is to get the general power requirements for a large building or factory and specify what transformers, wiring, fusing, lighting, and power distribution methods they will need. Because of my education and my experience, I can provide a customer with the correct power and wiring specifications. The companies then can use my specifications to hire large electrical firms to install the electrical equipment and wiring. Firms normally do not do this for themselves because: 1. It is a one-time thing and they would not generally hire some one directly to do this. 2. Many firms cannot legally do this anyway because the state and local municipalities require a state-certified professional engineer and/or engineering company (like me) to design things like this. 3. It would be very costly and inefficient for a company to acquire this capability for a short amount of time. 4. On many types of consultancy, you want to hire another company because you may want a different point of view or perspective on the problem. 5. Many consultants can provide many types of engineering capabilities to bear on a problem, which can be impractical or expensive for companies to hire. Hope this helps Paul

All equipment should get supply voltage same.So we have to connect all in parallel But to complete the circuit, we need Phase and neutral Bulbs, fans, washing machines, fridges are connected in parallel

I just replaced a light fixture in an apartment complex.I discovered that the bonehead that did the install did not run an equiptment ground when he installed the entire circuit that the light is ran off of (dumb a**!!!!!!!!)Does anyone know if it would be up to code if I where to just drive an 8 ft. ground rod and ground the fixture/entire circuit off of the rod?I have looked everywhere.Cannot find anything in code books.If someone knows where this is in NEC, please include the location.Anybody have any input?

As mentioned the box may be grounded and you cannot see it. If it is not then you must ground it. There is code that will tell you the gauge of the wire that you must use for each circuit. The new code indicates that you do not use a ground rod, but a ground plate. That plate must be buried deep enough that it is in damp soil or it will not work. I am not familiar with the plates, but with the ground rods you need to have more than one and they have to be separated. I have attached a link to the city of Concord code.

Yes they do. They supply whatever current the load needs up to the limit of the circuit breaker. The voltage does, in reality, sag slightly due to wire drop, But; not very much.
