- Q:Does anyone have any ideas or a process they use to clean their laminate floor so it looks good?
- I have used the floor cleaners designed for Pergo floor, and find that they stink and do eventually leave a build up. The best thing that I have found is made my Pledge. It is a wood cleaner, make sure it says cleaner and not polish. Mist onto the floor and use a microfiber mop and clean the floor going with the grain. The cleaner leaves the room smelling good, and you can use the cleaner on other things in your home as well
- Q:My little dog has some leg problems. His back legs are a little numb so he slips around on the tile we have. We are moving to a new home and are looking to put some flooring in. We would like to put anything but carpet. Would you reccomend wood or bamboo flooring? Are either of these better when it comes to slipping and sliding around?Thanks!

- You'll need to rent a floor polisher. I actually clean the marble floor where I work. What we do is use a marble polish that looks somewhat like wet sand. We mix the polish with some water, put it on the floor, and use a low/medium speed floor buffer with a medium pad to polish the floor. We then squeegee most of the polish up and use a wet vacuum to get the rest. Next, we mop the floor (alot!) to get the left over polish. Lastly, (after the floor is dry) we use a high speed buffer with a light or medium pad to shine it up. Talk to the person you rent the polisher from, and be sure to read and follow the directions on the polish. It can be a lot of work (particularily prep work, such as moving furniture, taping/covering carpets, etc.) but the reward is totally worth it. Good luck!
- Q:we refinished them 2-3 months ago,we watched a video. they turned out beautiful, except one bedroom started to ripple,and now it is swelling up off the floor. I'm worried the rest of the floor is going to do the same.please help!
- Is the flooring over cement or sub flooring? Sounds to me as if moisture is playing a part in this. Check to see if there is water pipes or drainage pipes beneath the floor in this area. If so they may be leaking and causing moisture build up between the hardwood and sub flooring. If no water leakage is occurring it could be just ground water evaporating through the flooring. With conventional flooring you can place 8 mil plastic on the ground underneath the home ( if you can crawl under there ) should stop moisture. When you refinish flooring and remove the coating it opens the pores of the wood up, which allows moisture to be absorbed. Sometimes more than it should. Hope this helps some.

- Q:I have an acid washed concrete floor in my business. I am having a problem with the floor being hazy/dirty after washing. The floor is waxed. When i clean the floor I use 2 buckets of water ... One with neutral floor cleaner and one clean water rinse bucket. After the floor dries it has a haze over it ... if i rub my fingers on the floor the haze goes away but my fingertips become black from the residue ... what can i do to get my floor back to clean ... i get so many compliments on the dirty floor and i cant imagine what they will say once it is really clean ... Any Help Would Be Appreciated ....Thank You
- Sound like the cleaner you're using is leaving the residue. Try moping with water and vinegar and then a rinse.
