- Q:can you use just one power (positive) cable cut it and use the rest for your negative
- Power cable and ground cable is the same thing, it conducts electricity exactly the same so you an use your scrap wire for a negative but i would reccomend it all be one piece so that you avoid ground loops and loose connections.

- not all graphic cards need them. But lately the graphic cards are using up quite a bit of power, especially the high-end ones. So if the graphic card has a pci-e power connector. Chances are it will need it. Otherwise your computer might show graphics are there will be error when trying to play games or other graphic intense applications. The same thing is happening to graphic cards, that happen to processor a few years ago. Not that long ago processors could just be powered by the energy coming from the bus line on the motherboard, but that is not true anymore and now we use 4-pin or the new 8 pin axillary power for the processor.

- same interface cable, and same power source cable. YOu just have to make sure the motherboard has a 6.0 gbs slot. I just built a PC with one of these. Not a HUGE improvement, but startup is a few seconds faster.

- your problem will be solved.Also make sure your PSU is at least 300W before you plug that card in. Sorry for the wrong link. I have since replaced it. Your PSU is more than enough to power that card, the rest of your system and another 5770 in XFire.

- If your current power supply is modular and you buy the same brand of modular power supply to replace it, then you can use most of the existing cables, if you want to. For most power supplies, all the cables are permanently attached. But there's nothing wrong with using existing cabling if it is modular. You have to be aware that different brands of power supplies use different types of modular cables, though. If you change brands of power supply, most likely you will need to replace all power cables, regardless of if they are modular or not...
- Q:when you install a power cable you usually route it through the door seal and under the carpet. If there are existing speaker wires that go to your rear speakers, will the power cable create an interference?
- The speakers are probably just being under-driven. Meaning they need more juice to operate efficiently (Like they were designed). Factory speaker wires tend to be small AWG, but I think you will find that larger wires wont make much of a difference in this case. However if you are going to add an amp, you should go ahead and run some aftermarket wires. I once changed out some speakers in a 97 taurus with the same results. Worse than stock.
