- Q:I have a usb hub that is externally powered that stays on 24/7 even when i shut my computer off. It is buried behind by desk so removing the usb power supply manually each time is what im trying to avoid. Is there anyway i can put a switch in the power cable going to it?
- Before you attempt this, make sure you have the following items: -Wire strippers -Electrical tape -Two terminal switch -Scissors IMPORTANT! make sure that the cable is unplugged from the computer and the hub before you do this! 1st, cut the cord halfway with the scissors. Next, remove the outer wire insulation from the two new ends you just cut with the wire strippers. Now strip the small colored wires that are now exposed. Then connect the red wire from one half of the cord to a terminal on the switch. Do the same with the other red wire from the other half of the cord and connect it to the other terminal on the switch. Strip the other small wires and connect them back to their appropriate colored wire. Finally, wrap each wire individually with electrical tape, then wrap the entire gap in the cord with it. Now plug the cord in and try it out!
- Q:Since the ps3 uses a universal power cable can any of those cables workthe original cable says 10A and 125v and the other non original says the same it fits however is it safe???
- If you are talking about the HDMI cable that goes from your HD TV to the ps3 - then you have to find out the resolution that your tv supports and then find a HDMI cable that matches that resolution you can get these cables at major electronics stores It is best to have a HD TV with the HD cable (improves graphics)
- Q:Whether the weight of the power cable per meter is calculated
- AC power is a two-phase exchange of the power system, itself is positive and negative exchange, the electromagnetic effect can almost count the daily life of the free radiation are more than this number, and can rest assured that the general life supplies, the larger electromagnetic radiation from the DC Of electrical supplies, which only need to pay more attention
- Q:ok so i'm building a high gaming computer. my question is i'm a getting a Full moduler power supply my question is do i have to buy the cables for power does the componets i buy come with them??? oh and by the way just curious what happens if you touch thermal paste with your finger???
- Your power supply will come with a standard assortment of cables to supply power to various components ASSUMED to be in your system. But you will want to read reviews of your chosen power supply before you buy it to find out what (specific) cables are included. Most modular power supplies will have the right cables for motherboard and hard drives and optical drive. The connections you need to pay attention to are the PCI-Express cables. High-end video cards will need at least one power connection. Some video cards need TWO power cables for EACH card. If you plan to run multiple cards, you could need 4, 6 or even 8 PCI-Express power cables! So you need to think ahead to decide how many (maximum number) of video cards you will want to install in the system. Then figure out what specific model. Then add up the number of PCI-Express power cables needed by type. Such as: (2) six-pin plus (2) eight-pin. Now you are ready to read reviews of your chosen power supply to see if it has the right cables included. Thermal paste often contains heavy metals. So it's not good to touch it with your finger. But momentary contact is not a problem, as long as you wipe it off and/or wash your hands shortly afterward. The main problem with touching thermal paste (with finger or otherwise) is that you don't want to remove too much of it from the heatsink/CPU area...or it won't cool properly. In general, don't touch it with your finger. But if you do, it's not a big deal. Just don't leave it on your skin for very long.
- Q:Hi,I have this Corsair TX 750W PSU and one of the cable have 3 x4pins connectors on it. i use one of the 4pins connector on this cable to power 6 fans on my case and the other two 4pins connectors i use one to connect to two ssd drives and other connector to the IDE 1.5TB hdd. do you think that this single cable is under stress to power up all 9 items? is there rule about psu cable? i am asking this because i thought maybe the psu is affecting my gtx 670 sli performance. i get P11000 score and X5006 using 3dmark 11. so it is a bit low. i should get arouynd P16000+.i have i7 2600k @ 4.5ghz w HT and pc3200 16GB. i hope someone can point out the low score issue and power supply cable question.. i am currently running drivers 320.49
- well in other psus if you take them apart all the different cables are all stuck into the same power out on the inside but i have never taken apart a modular corsair before so i couldn't say for sure but it wouldn't affect your 6 pins if there was any problems it would be between the hard drives and the fans not only that but between 6 fans and 2 hard drives your probably only using like 30-40watts of power through that cable which is nothing to a 750
- Q:Hi, Im building a computer and my Power supply dosent have enough Cables/wires for all the slots. We do have enough to fill one motherboard power slot and we also have enough to fill about a hal of one. Can my computer run with just half of one of the slots? Also, my computer's Graphics card, a Gigabyte GV-N560UD-1GI nVidia GeForce 560 Ti, has two power slots, and the wires that it comes with have 2 4 pin peripheral power cables brnching off of it. My power supply only has enough to fill 1 of the cables. My dad says it will be fine but i dunno. Please awnser quickly! Any awnsers will be much a preiciated
- for the GTX560 Ti Here is what your APEVIA ATX-TL450W 450 Watts has: Those are for your motherboard: 1 x Main connector (20Pin / 24 Pin) 1 x 12V(4Pin) Those are for SATA and Molex HDD, DVD 3 x peripheral (aka Molex 4 pin) 1 x SATA Plus 1 x Floppy which no one uses anymore Your only solution would be to buy a newer, better power supply, which is what I recommend. Or, as a compromise (not recommended, as your power is not big enough for all components). Use 2 Molex to PCI-e cable adapters to power your graphics card. Use 1 Molex to SATA to power your DVD drive Use the only SATA to power your hard drive. Good luck.
- Q:Hi everyone, I recently purchased a PS3 used not slim and am having a tough time with it. For one, I don't even know how to charge my four red dot blinking controller and turn on the ps3. I'm wondering since I got everything hooked up but still not even a red dot on the ps3 when I put in the power cable at the end there is that thing with the three things sticking out, where do I put that? Like a place where I charge my phone? I think that's why I'm having problems. Thanks.
- ok. the PS3 uses a standard 3 prong plug, similar to what your PC would use. plug that in, and then into the wall. older PS3's also have a power switch right above the power cord. you have to turn the system on here. after you filp the switch, the PS3 enters standby mode. on to your controller you should have gotten a very short usb cable. the larger end plugs into the system.the smaller into the controller. push the PS button on the center of your controller to sync it. it should go from 4 flashing lights to one. then, it should steady flash position 1 to show that it is charging. one it is charged, or when the usb cable is removed, you should get a steady light. no flashes.
- Q:I have a be quiet! dark power pro 850W. The sleeving is too thick for cable management!! It is a complete mess with the antec 900. its ridiculous as I bought it with cable management in my mind. Can I buy thinner cables on their own? Is there a standard modular fitting size?Thank you.
- I got the Coolmaster 1000, all the cables bar the main are disconnecting, very handy plus they supply you with all the cables you will ever need to make a monster of a system.
- Q:I just finished building my shed, I put a 1 1/2 inch conduit under the shed coming up into the corner. I am now about to dig the 65 foot trench back to the house. I need to run power, not a problem. I want to run a phone line, a network cable, and a cable wire for my satellite. I say shed but it is 12 by 20 feet with an attic. Can I run these additional lines in with the power. I was thinking about using a run of Shielded cables for the network and one for the phone. For the cable some heavy duty quot;I don't know what thoughquot;. Will the power lines mess the data up on them? What will work for the three if any. If I need to I could run them in a new conduit, but that is not cheap!
- Run the conduit all the way to the house, put the LV cables in it, Run the power in a separate metal conduit. If you do not wish to do it this way, dig a second ditch at least 3 feet deep and at least 4 feet away to separate the cable types. If they are close to each other, the power will induce a signal on the LV cables that will be a nuisance at least. If they must be close, have them cross at right angles.
- Q:Copper core power cable models which several kinds
- They have two kinds of total use, one is the transmission current, one is the transmission signal
