Power cable size will depend on the output current rating of the genset. The conductor size shall be rated for carrying the maximum genset current contnuously and shall be rated for the voltage of the genset.

Get the proper supply. It will be easier on it. With that supply, it could overheat and prematurely fail.

Nope. A 350 watt supply comes nowhere near drawing more than an ordinary household 15 AMP circuit can carry (about 3 AMPs at full load). Actually, rack-mount systems often draw less power than standard desktop systems if they are engineered correctly. An ordinary 3-prong plug (like those sold on all desktops in the US) will do just fine. As a rule of thumb, if the cord feels warm, consider a larger size.

Q:So i'm trying to start up an old windows 98 model. I was thinking of using the cable from a laptop because it fits into the power supply. Problem is i don't know if its safe, advice?. most computers use an IEC 3 blade connector. if you have one of these standard connectors that fits the computer on one end and your power outlet on the other, then you are good to go. these are generic and used on many different electronic devices not just computers.

Q:I'm gonna be running a 2,700watts RMS system on a Power Acoustik 4,500watt Class D Monoblock amp at 1-ohm. I have a 2005 Impala LS do I'm going to need a secondary battery. What size should it be? You can try the dealer for the exact cables for your vehicle, if they are not obsolete and are still available, no modifications required. But if shopping for aftermarket cables, longer may be better. You can always tie the extra cable up out of the way. If you start with a cable that is too short, you can't make it any longer. You want to make sure that the cables are not touching any hot engine parts, or crossing any sensitive wiring harnesses where electromagnetic fields could screw with electronic components. It may be better to let the local repair shop replace them for you.

Q:Hi,I have this Corsair TX 750W PSU and one of the cable have 3 x4pins connectors on it. i use one of the 4pins connector on this cable to power 6 fans on my case and the other two 4pins connectors i use one to connect to two ssd drives and other connector to the IDE 1.5TB hdd. do you think that this single cable is under stress to power up all 9 items? is there rule about psu cable? i am asking this because i thought maybe the psu is affecting my gtx 670 sli performance. i get P11000 score and X5006 using 3dmark 11. so it is a bit low. i should get arouynd P16000+.i have i7 2600k @ 4.5ghz w HT and pc3200 16GB. i hope someone can point out the low score issue and power supply cable question.. i am currently running drivers 320.49

A computer power supply is really several supplies in the same box. The specs will tell you if those 4-pin connectors all go to the same place. The outputs for the graphics card come from a different source than those 4-pin Molex connectors so those aren't going to affect performance. You would have to add up the current draw for all of the fans and the drives to know if the power supply is being overloaded. The fans have the current draw printed on them so write them down and add them up. But if you are paranoid, open the case and disconnect the case fans. Also disconnect the drives you aren't using. SSD's don't draw nearly as much power as a HDD so try to disconnect the hard drive if you can. Then run the test again and it should be exactly the same.

Q:I'm looking to add another Light fixture on the other side of the garage, and wire it using the existing cable from the first light, I know running a normal power cable outside drywall is against code, but I've heard some people say you can use something like BX cable, or some metal encased cable outside of drywall and still be up to code? Is there a I can run this cable outside of the drywall using something like that, and if yes, what exactly would I need to use to accomplish this? I plan I running the wire from the right side of the garage door, up above the door, and to the left side of the door to install a matching light.

Plastic grey conduit is the way to go easy to work with just need a hack saw and some glue
