- Q:How high voltage armored power cable is grounded
- When the armor leads directly to ground to buy the cable terminal, the manual has a specific production process
- Q:I live in the UK and I am going on holiday to Taiwan/Japan where the voltage is 110/100v as opposed to 220 here (i think).I was wondering if I could use a power extension cable (with multiple sockets) so that i would only need one adaptor to connect the extension to the mains and then I could just simply plug my 3 pin plugs into the cable saving me money and sockets. As it would be a lower voltage, I assume that there shouldn't be any problems with power however, if there are any electricians or anyone who has done this before I would really appreciate some guidance just to ensure that this is safe. Thanks is advance.
- You'd use the correct AC power cord that replaces the toggle-head part, and that would be the best part. These can be bought with a variety of different ends on them; while the adapter itself will work with any of the supported voltage ranges, automatically.
- Q:Acoustic Audio 10 inch home theatre powered subwoofer use speaker wire or subwoofer cable?
- As you used the phrase The wire that was included for the subwoofer, I'll presume that we're talking Home Theater in a Box here. As someone above mentioned, sub frequencies can use a lot more energy. In a larger system where you are consistently running several hundred watts over longer distances, a larger wire would probably be benificial. For a HTIB system such as yours the wire that came with it would be more than adequate over the short run that would typically be needed. Having said that, there is nothing wrong and nothing will be damaged by going to a larger gauge wire. Just not a lot of benefit.
- Q:my laptop keeep on saying installing lite on camera crystal eye and it and put implug power cable and i dontt no what one is so what is a power cable pleasssse help ?
- A power cable is an assembly of two or more electrical conductors, usually held together with an overall sheath. The assembly is used for transmission of electrical power. Power cables may be installed as permanent wiring within buildings, buried in the ground, run overhead, or exposed.
- Q:Hello,I recently bought a kotatsu and I really need some help. The power cable is of course Japanese... And I need some type of converter. On the part of the cable that plugs into the radiotaor it says:PSE (It's in some square box)JET MR7A 250VOn the end that plugs into the wall it says:PSE (It's in some square box)JET MR7A 125VI''m not sure if a simple small converter to let me put the Japanese cable into my wall is enough, I think I need something extra to make sure nothing goes into flames.Inside the Japanese instruction manual I found some info ... However, I'm not really sure if it is related to the power supply or not...AC100V 50-60Hz400W3.1 (Probably the length of the cable) 1.3 (Same here I think)140Wh 60 Wh55C 37CPlease help me, what should I get to be able to use the cable in Europe. Any links at all will be helpful...Thanks.
- Don't worry too much about what the cord says. Worry about the power requirements on the appliance label, and making sure you are feeding it with the voltage required, with a capacity within the range. In your instance, you will need a converter transformer that converts your outlet voltage to 100V, and has 550 or larger watt capacity.
- Q:I just bought a new video card and it requires a power supply and i have the cables but im lost on where to put them.
- you take the power from your power supply to give to the video card. older cards use the 4-pin moly connectors and the new ones use either 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-e, If you don't have the right connectors from the PSU then you can buy an adapter for about $4 at most computer stores
- Q:I have had my ASUS laptop for just over 2 months, and I've realised the power cable whilst being securely in, and charging without a problem, feels slightly loose when wobbled. I know this isn't a problem at the moment, but is this right, should it feel slightly loose? It moves quite freely inside the socket of the laptop when moved
- Sounds fine, but if it becomes a problem then take it back to where you got it and explain the problem. They will fix it for you, for a reasonable price. My computer started off like that, then it started refusing its charger, and still does now. When we got it seen to, the fixing chap tried his charger on it, and it worked fine so we now need to buy a new one, but they are pretty expensive things. It may not end up like that for you, but whatever it could lead to, I wouuld get it seen to, because believe me, it stops accepting its charger, hibernates on you- then bang and the work is gone! :-(( Good Luck!
- Q:Will it work if I put a pigtail (connect the wires by twisting them together) or does that stop it from working properly..
- That would not be wise. Alot of power is traveling through that cable. Chances are you might fry your laptop or start a fire. Just go buy a new cable
- Q:I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW POWER SUPPLY CABLE/ADAPTER AT THE MOMENT.CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE.
- No, thats only used for transferring files to and from the camcorder.
- Q:If Not What Do I Have To Look Out For Because Im Looking For A New Power Supply Fan.
- To be honest, by the time you dismantle your power supply and find the right kind of fan (no, not usually the same, generally smaller) and then glue it all back together, it would be a lot simpler just to get a new PSU.. They're really very cheap, and a lot less hassle to subsititute than to repair
