Q:How can I shampoo my carpet??
Lots of possibilities 1) In the supermarket you will find a carpet cleaner amongst all the other soaps and floor cleaners - it tends to be used for spot cleaning, spray it on leave it for the stated length of time and then vacuum it off. 2) If you want to clean the whole carpet in a room you might find a friend who has a Kirby and cant wait to lend it to you to clean your carpet. It does quite a good job and removes most of the stains but you need a three year degree course in mechanical engineering to understand the instruction manual and when you have mastered that you can only do about 6 square inches at a time before the fluid runs out and you have to disassemble everything, make up a fresh mixture ready for the next 6 square inches. Make sure you return the Kirby after borrowing it because a) it will take over your life if you keep it and (b) the owners probably had to take out a second mortgage to buy it so they will be eager for you to return it 3) Some supermarkets will rent out a large carpet cleanng mchine or 4) you could get in a professional - look in Yellow Pages for carpet cleaning - they will do a proper job fairly quickly. Good luck hope it all comes out brilliantly whatever method you choose.
Q:Cute rug or throw ideas for a plain white floor?
Get our there and check rummage sales, end hand stores, antique stores. Just because they say it's an antique store, that doesn't mean that they only have antiques. You will be surprised what you can find only because people decide to make a few changes in their own homes. I often see rugs of all kinds, in good condition at rummage sales. I've purchased a few through the years and never pay that much for them. Besides you can always do some dickering about prices. I never pay what they ask for at any rummage sale I might stop at. Might even be able to dicker down prices at 2nd hand stores. I've done that too at 2nd hand stores. You might want to consider double tape to keep you rug in place. However you can check that out once you have the carpet in your home. There out there ... you just have to find them. The fun is in the hunt + dickering. Not to mention saving a lot of money to put toward something else.
Q:How do you clean the grease spots on the carpet?
For oil stains that are not easily removed from carpets, wipe them with carbon tetrachloride solution. Use cotton yarn dipped in high quality gasoline, wipe carpet greasy spots, the best effect.
Q:What to do with finished latch hook rugs?
There okorder.com is another site where people sell completed handcrafts. If you have consignment shops in your area, they may be willing to sell the rugs for you. I have some that I've hung on the wall as art, and I have also used some as tops for chair cushions or throw pillows. Unfortunately, though, in general this is one of the class of craft projects where the unused kit often sells for more than the completed item. If selling doesn't work out, you may wish to restrict yourself to rug projects where you have a specific use or recipient in mind, or else put some of your energy into a less expensive craft like friendship bracelets, for instance. Good luck!
Q:How do you keep an area rug from shedding?
I would take it to a rug cleaner and let them clean residual rug fuzzies out to their best ability. Some rugs will shed even after having this done, but this will eliminate a lot of the fuzzies. Vacuum frequently, daily for a while.
Q:area rug thin.11'x13' pad needed. Hardwood floors?
A true pad won t really work since it ll bunch up,make it to thick and cause a tripping hazard.. What you should use is a special mat made just for rugs over hardwood. This type allows the rug to stay it place w/o slipping and bunch up, allows the wood to properly breathe and not stain the wood . These are bought any where wood and flooring are sold, just get the kind made for rugs over wood. Since you know your rug size you can get the closest size to your rug. You can even cut these and trim them to fit so the whole rug is covered from below. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:How to deal with the cigarette ash on the carpet?
Since it has been unable to use the vacuum cleaner, then you partially wet the carpet with a strong detergent to take a small brush carefully brush it.
Q:Removing syrup from area rug?
You will need a lot of water. Put some terry cloth towels underneath and really soak it and blot it a lot. Eventually it will be gone. If you can, put the rug into a Washer or go to the commercial Laundromat and wash it there. I would use soap sparingly or not at all.
Q:What color of the carpet looks good to match with white tiles?
Which is white grey, with a small amount of impurity spots, or black and white color
Q:I'm looking for a moderately priced rug for a large dining room table and need the size to be 8' x 14' ,.
We've found some nice ones at Home Depot and Lowes.
