Q:My ex landlord is charging me pro-rated costs to replace the entire carpet. While I don't think the carpet needs to be replaced, they said they couldn't get all the carpet installed before the new tenant moved in that they will replace the carpet upon the exit of the new tenant, whenever that may be. Can the legally do that? They've sent me receipts for the carpet cleaning have deducted the pro-rated amount to replace all the carpet. FYI I moved out the end of June, they sent me estimates the end of July now in January they've just sent me the invoices, I asked, for the work they completed, the new tenant moved in-in August.: Usually they have time frame within which they have to bill you.

Q:Hi. We're currently redoing our spare bedroom complete with new carpet, new paint, and new molding. We've ripped up the old carpet and removed the old molding from the walls. We plan to paint next weekend. My question is, do we install the new molding before or after the new carpet is installed (in about two weeks after painting is done)? Which is the best way to go?: Oxyclean. If it's the powder then wet the spot and saturate the area with the powder. Let it sit for a while. Maybe even overnight. You will have to have a carpet cleaner or shop vac to suck up the old oxyclean. Then you will probably have to reapply several times. I do this with my laundry that gets mildew and mold on it and it works like a charm. If you use the liquid oxyclean that comes in the spray bottle then just spray it on and suck it up with the carpet cleaner or shop vac. This is the method I use on my carpet with pet stains and I love it. hint: liquid tide in the carpet cleaner works wonders too.

Q:I have a Chinese rug and the pile is flat. Is there any way I can improve it.: 1. Put some ice cubes in a bowl. 2. Place the ice cubes along the dented areas of carpeting or in the spot where a piece of furniture was set. Place cubes about 2 inches apart. (See Tips below. ALWAYS test first, and be especially cautious if you have wood floors under your carpeting.) 3. Let the ice cubes rest on the carpet for several hours or overnight, at least until cubes are completely melted. 4. Allow the carpet to dry completely. 5. Vacuum the carpet in the areas where you set the ice cubes. 6. Carpet fibers should now be returned to their normal upright position. If they're still lying down, fluff them up with your finger tips. 7. Reapply ice cubes if needed. 8. Please read important TIPS below. Tips: 1. ALWAYS test this method first with one ice cube in an inconspicuous spot. Lift carpet corner to see that the water hasn't damaged the under flooring. 2. Be CAREFUL if you have wood floors underneath! Test first to make sure moisture does not damage the wood! 3. DO NOT use this method on hand dyed rugs, antique carpets, delicate or valuable rugs, or on fibers not compatible with water cleaning.

Q:My door catches on every rug i've purchased. I cannot open my front door without it dragging the rug. Anyone have any ideas where to find a very thin (yet hopefully durable) entry rug?: a large carpet store that specializes only in carpet

Q:Does the carpet make them sound better? Or is it to protect the cabinet? Or is it just because it looks good?: Not all of them are carpeted. In fact, I don't think I've seen any carpeted ones in many years. Old Cerwin Vegas, had carpeting as I recall. Anyway, it's just cosmetic. The carpeting doesn't show road wear as much as the Tolex vinyl coverings.

Q:could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.: Yeah maybe. But the thin rug may rip easily if he rolls on frosty ground and catches himself, or the snow may melt in the middle of the night and the water will seep through the rug and soak the fleece. You would be better off buying a proper turnout rug. Just use a old summer sheet and see if it works, if not, buy a turnout rug. Good luck! x x :)
