Not all carpets do. Check your paper work for the type you have. Any good company will have given you paper work on the stain properties. Damage to the walls will fall on the installers shoulders. Take pictures and start complaining ASAP. Empire should contact the installers and make them pay for it. And your salesperson will handle the warranty work as far as filing a claim. Don t give in if it brand new and has a warranty. Most carpet warranties go from 5/7/10+ years and go on a pro rated basis if the carpet is older than a year. Q:I am looking for someone to pull the glue down carpet I have on my concrete basement floor off. Also, would install new carpet in for a reasonable price. I will buy all the materials needed. I just need someone to remove and install it. I live in the Piedmont Triad area in North Caroline. Please help.: Removing glue-down or any carpet does not require any special skill, only some amount of strength and the proper tools. You will need a good utility knife with a couple of packs of sturdy replacement blades. You can use the knife to cut thru the carpet, making it into approx 3x3' or 4x4' sections. Then just start pulling the carpet up. Cut one section at a time, remove it then proceed to the next. If any foam is left stuck to the floor, you only need to remove the thick sections. A small amount can be left stuck to the floor since the new carpet and pad, will cover this. You can use a stiff 3-4 wide putty knife to scrape off the foam that's left behind or rent or buy a scraping tool, on a long pole to do the job. I have done it with just a putty knife. Then get some estimates for new carpet and installation. Home D and Lowes offer almost free install.

Second - price will play a huge part in the size and type. Since this is for an elementary school and they probably do not have rug/carpet in budget, my guess is that you will be paying for it? Suggestion - go to a local carpet store and pick out the least expensive to your taste, have the store order to your size and then have it bound around the edges. I can tell at one point it was a very dark brown and has lightened up over time. I would like to know how to darken it without having to replace it yet. Is there a way to darken it?: It would be less expensive to replace the carpet, using a carpet remnant available from a specialized carpet store. Take your room measurements with you and look around. These carpet stores are anxious to sell these remnants and will take a reasonable offer on them. Nylon carpet is perhaps the easiest carpet to dye and going from a light color is the best choice when dyeing this fiber. Olefin carpet cannot be dyed. Polyester carpets, made from recycled plastic bottles is relatively inexpensive to begin with and is, in my estimation and experience, not worth dyeing. If you follow through with the replacement, carefully examine the carpet pad to see if it to should be replaced. Removing the old carpet and pad is relatively easy and something you can do your self with a utility knife. Cut it in smaller pieces from the backside to make removal easier. If you shop for a remnant, make an offer they cannot refuse.

Q:will it mess up the carpet or don anything negative in general: At the very least, I'd put furniture casters under the 'feet'. You want some clearance for free air-flow under it. Note: It WILL need occasional de-frosting which usually involves some spilled water. Really not a good idea to keep it on carpet.
