Q:how do u clean up soda on a hardware floor?
I always use the Clorox readymop mopping system to clean my hardwood floor. It give me a sparkling floor that is not sticky. The floor cleaner spray is safe on hardwood floor. I haven't use wet mop anymore after i found readymop. Just hit the trigger to spray some cleaner on dirty or hard to clean spot. Dry mop it and the floor is clean as new. It dries so fast that i can step on it right away
Q:502 glue dripping on the wooden floor how to do? How to get rid of 502 glue?
With paper towels or small cloth dipped in gasoline, covered in 502 above, after a while you can erase,
Q:Sticky Kitchen Floors!??!!?
The problem is that you are sticking to what you are mopping with. When you mop you should use the hottest water you can get, dilute some cleaning solution that you use, (I use bleach since it also sterilizes) mop the floor applying the cleaner liberally. The dry out your mop and mop up the liquid that is on the floor. After you have cleaned the floor, rinse out your mop with clean water (very hot), wring as much water out or the mop as you can and damp mop to pick up the residue. Let it air dry.
Q:Polyurethane floors - what fills the tiny cracks?
On floors that are much older than 10 years the cracks are usually not filled when refinishing. The reason for this is that the wood will expand and contract with season changes. When the floor expands the filler or putty in the cracks will crack and not look good. If the floor is newer with just a few very minor cracks you can fill with a trowelable wood filler, such as woodwise brand filler. This would be the method if completely sanding floors down... If you are just recoating the floor it would be best to use a matching wood putty. prior to buffing or coating the floor. This way it will seal it in to the floor.
Q:Cleaning a laminate (Pergo) floor?
I have used the floor cleaners designed for Pergo floor, and find that they stink and do eventually leave a build up. The best thing that I have found is made my Pledge. It is a wood cleaner, make sure it says cleaner and not polish. Mist onto the floor and use a microfiber mop and clean the floor going with the grain. The cleaner leaves the room smelling good, and you can use the cleaner on other things in your home as well
Q:Mobilehome floor, cover or replace?
I have the same problem. After pulling up the pad I could see stains that could of came from pet urine.I kilz/sealed the old plywood before I applied my second layer of plywood. I suggest going over the existing floor. You may have to trim the jambs and doors down though. You should be able to see the original plywood seams,I would stagger the seams and joints. This will keep air from entering or escaping from the same joints. I would glue and nail my new OSB/Plywood.Of course you should find floor joist layout first and cut sheets accordingly.Nailing would be faster if using an air nailer.Ring shank nails should be used.Screws have the tendency to snap and break.Glue will help bond the layers together to avoid squeaks.
Q:Water seeping through floor?
A water line under your floor must have burst. If your floor is on a concrete slab foundation, that's what happened. It happens a lot. Sorry to hear about that. You may as well ge a plumber to come over as soon as possible. Otherwise it will just get worse and worse.
Q:any estimates for water buckled floor?
First off, we need some details. Is this a floor covering that is buckling? (As in laminate flooring) Or is this the sub-floor that is buckling? (Generally particle board, OSB, or plywood, found under vinyl flooring, carpet, or other floor covering). Dimensions? (How much of the floor is buckling?) There is the off chance, also, that you have a warped floor joist. How much it is going to cost will depend on which problem you've got, what kind of floor covering, and material & labor rates in your area. OSB sub-flooring in my neck of the woods is running about $13 for a sheet of 3/4 x 4'x8'. Plywood of the same thickness and size is running about $32 per sheet. This could turn into a major problem, if you let it go. Mold can set in, and then you'd have a really nasty problem. By the way, that leak from the air conditioner was probably from dirt in the drain line. It needs to be cleaned out, or replaced, before running the AC. Without those details, we can't very well give even a rough guess at the expense to repair it. Call some local flooring contractors to come out and give you some estimates. Ask for, AND CHECK, their references. Good Luck Additional: Ok, I've checked back 3 times now, and still don't see any additional information. So my best advice with the limited details we have here, is to call in the flooring contractors as stated above. Have Fun
Q:Floor Burn?
(I changed my answer) Slide only on your clothing, avoid moving across the floor on your bare skin. Practice rolling without sliding on your skin. and practice lifting your legs and arms off the floor so only your clothing is touching the floor when you do have to slide.
Q:How do I clean laminated floors without leaving streaks?
Use murphy oil soap you can find it most any where or just go to home depot its great stuff and concentrated its for wall washing cabinets all kinds of stuff
