- Q:I am about to run out of Sofa Mart leather cleaner and it's very expensive. Are there any cheaper things to use that are also safe for leather furniture?
- Saddle soap is safe, Also a small amount of your own dish washing detergent will clean your leather furniture, as long as you rinse straight away with clear water and dry it well.
- Q:I would like to recover them but they want $1000 just for the sofa. I could buy a new (junk but new) one for that. - Q:I was just removing some nail polish off my nails when I was sitting on the sofa (in the dark), and I decided that I needed to get a new cotton pad and put some nail polish remover (NPR from now on). Well, the nozzle part of the NPR bottle (the part that stops a whole load of it coming out) came off and got stuck in the lid and I didn't notice. Well, I went to pour it onto the cotton pad, and a WHOLE LOAD of it came out onto the sofa. Now there's a really strong smell coming from it, and my mum is practically crying (I don't know why, shes a bloody drama queen and the smell bothers her) and she's yelling at me. We can't afford to replace the sofa, so can anyone please please please tell me how to get rid of the smell (quickly)????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
- Get soap and stuff that makes things smell better like Lysol and scrub the soap on the sofa and spray Lysol or any product that makes things smell better and get a cotton ball and rub it on the place with the nail polish remover and pour water on it and wait for it to dry after you do that repeat what you did again and it will be better ( Trust me this happened to me to!)

- I think cushions,,,,depending on their color would look okay on a leather sofa. Go to a site that sells leather furniture and you will see pillows on the couches.

- As the first reply said, you can have whatever you like. But it sounds like you're concerned there might be too little contrast in the room, and that would be a shame considering how much $$ and effort an ivory leather sofa takes, eh? Consider grounding: the sofa on a deep-colored area rug such as a medium navy, or chocolate brown, or a charcoal grey. You could also consider painting the wall opposite the room's entrance in a similar color, so the sofa pops in contrast to the floor opposite-wall. Both of these options --together or only one-- will make the sofa more prominent and you can dress the sofa with similarly colored accessories such as pillows and a throw. Hope this helps, ? ?
