Q:Here is the deal...*Van over heats*Blows Cold quot;heatquot;*Coolant leaks (not into the oil)*Added coolant and water (nothing happened)*Started van, felt the hoses (no h2o flowing thru)Ive had this problem for a while. Some times my van drives just fine and heats just fine, then some days it wants to over heat and blow cool quot;heatquot;. Adding coolant to my van used to do the trick, but now its not working. If it is my thermostat that is broke, the water/coolant would still run through the hoses right?I really think its my water pump out, but I am not sure. Does this sound like my water pump? If so, I plan on changing it myself, how do i find step by step instructions to do so.... I have never done it before, but I cant afford to take it to a mechanic! Thanks for your help!
Again, see last answer to your same question. You obviously dont know what the real problem is, could be water pump and might not be. Instead of wasting over 25.00 on a water pump and that not being the problem, why dont you take it to a reputable repair facility and have the cooling system analyzed and they can tell you EXACTLY what part(s) need replacing, then go from there. Nobody can diagnose your cooling system problem over the internet since we are not at your vehicle with a coolant pressure tester and block test tool.
Q:Can someone please post a picture of how to find a Water Pump on a 1992 Dodge Spirit with a K2.5L Engine, it would be much appreciated. :)
not a bad idea to post your question in the boating section, considering that us boaters are smarter than most, but you'll probably have a better chance of resolving your problem if you post it in the automotive repair section.
Q:When I buy submersible pump, the other party did not inform is the aluminum submersible pump, water pump factory production of aluminum submersible pump illegal? Is it against the law to sell the pump to the pump without informing me?
No, the state does not have special laws to prohibit the use of aluminium wireIn fact, the aluminum core wire or mechanical or good, low prices, especially in the dry environment of small and medium-sized mechanical and electrical, with good performance. Only in the submersible pump, because aluminum is easier than copper wire, moisture infiltration, bacteria and other corruption, and its survival time is sometimes less than copper wire. But the pump inlet, aluminum often requires rewinding coil, because of a small submersible pump well around Electromechanical General scrap. Therefore, the quality of submersible pumps will not generally use aluminum, but the production of aluminum submersible pump is not illegal, but in the sale should be based on the principle of honest business detailed notification.
Q:4--6 inch deep well pump head? How much per hour out of water?.
General agricultural pump 4-6 inches of lift at about 20 meters, the economic output of water is 140-200 cubic meters per hour
Q:My radiator light came on this morning i was running late for work so i topped it off with water (about twice a year the light comes on, it has only ever had to be topped off) and after about 20 minutes of driving it started to heat up, so i pulled over shut it offsomebody stopped checked the temp of the water in the reservoir, said it felt to only be about 100 degrees, but topped it off with more water. the gauge dropped right back down to being almost as cold as when you first drive it, but after about 2 miles it was right back up near the red line.I pulled over again there was steam coming off the engine. I stuck my finger in the water it felt warm, but nowhere near hot. I couldn't get it cool enough to finish driving to work. Does this sound like the water pump?If so, how long should this take a decent mechanic to replace? If not, what else could it be?
if it,s circulating then the pump is doing its job. sounds more like the radiator or the thermostat is sticking part of the time. flush out the whole cooling system and change the thermostat. also make sure the fan is working proper.
Q:I've noticed after driving my car for a while recently it squeals while accelerating. I'm wondering if its the water pump cause I've had a coolant leak for a while. I poured alluminum sealer in the reservoir and its stopped the leak almost completely though. If it was a broken pump, would this sealer have stopped the leak like it has? I drive a 2000 saturn sl2
it could be, the sealer causes more problems than they fix. you will need to clean your cooling system, heater core and radiator and all your hoses.
Q:I've searched the net but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for and hoping someone out there can steer me in the right direction! Maybe I'm not looking in the right place....or do I have to fabricate my own? I'm up for the challenge!1) Trying to source a water pump that I'm going to power by HAND or a BICYCLE. 2) My choice of pump to give a continuous stream of water (very important) is a rotary (centrifugal) type or is there something else capable of a continuous output?3) This will NOT BE USED for potable water. SPECS:a) lightweight but durable, the smaller, the better. b) low RPM, high volume output and capable of producing/handling pressure. c) self-primingd) able to handle some small particulates in the water as I am using rain water. (from outside, NOT filtered, so the following may be present: bugs, dust, etc...) Thank you, in advance, for your help and would be nice to thank the individual(s) for a unique answer to my request at a later date so let me know you're preferred method of contact!
There are very small rotary water pumps designed to be driven with hand-held electric drills. These pumps may be purchased in some hardware stores or farm supply stores. One could be adapted to a bicycle- type drive. Small pumps have about a 50% efficiency so you would need to produce sustained muscle power applied at around 150-200 watts to achieve 75 -100 watts of effective hydraulics. Applied watts = (GPM) (PSI) / 1.277 million (eff.) Where eff. is as a decimal. Edit : A 3/8 drill will pull about 280 watts. I can do 200 watts on an exercise bike, but not for long. I am a 79 heart patient, so you can probably do better..
Q:Looking for a pro's advice here. My Corolla has developed a strange noise over the past few cold weeks (Highs of 10 degrees max, well below zero at night). The sound would best be described as a cricket-type rythmic chirp noticable during acceleration. I don't believe it's a belt because it comes and goes though it has steadily gotten louder. I vaguely remember this sound being related to a bad water pump I had a few years ago. Do you think this could be the same thing? Three years for a water pump? And do water pumps tend to go out more frequently in the cold weather? Thanks!!!
Why don't you take it to a pro?
Q:will a water pump that has gone out in a car make water come out the radiater
Yes, when a car overheats, the pressure built up will exceed the pressure rating for the cap, and cause it to overflow from the radiator. But you should make sure it's the water pump causing this, there are a lot of things that can cause a car to overheat.
Q:What is the difference between a low pressure pump and a high pressure pump?
The magnitude of the pressure at the outlet side of the pump
