Q:I have a JVC KD-R210 does it have a wire fore it or what do I do
it's the blue wire with the white strip on your head unit
Q:so i got a few questions. on my 2000 chevy cavalier i got my audio system upgraded but toke it to a shop to get done i am ready to hook up a amp and woof but wanna do it my self to save a few hundred bucks as i was observing my car where to put stuff at i notice a blue wire that is going from where it looks like from my radio to my fuse box on the driver side and is hooked up to a fuse. what is that? and if its the remote wire can i hook up the remote wire for the amp with that blue wire to or is that to much?
There should be a block in that fuse panel marked auxiliary or aux. That will be the 12V power conx but I advise you to be safe and let the pros do the job for you.
Q:How can I investigate the resistance of wire and how it changes with the length of the wireCheers
If you don't have a multimeter, you can probably see the effect of resistance with a flashlight bulb and a small battery (AA or AAA, etc). Get a spool of wire, needs to be coated/insulated wire. Connect the bulb to the battery with the shortest wire possible. See how bright the bulb is. Then, connect again using the entire spool of wire (hopefully you can get at both ends of the wire while it is still on the spool). The bulb will be dimmer because the voltage at the bulb will be reduced by the resistance of the wire (resistivity per unit length X the length of wire). If the length of wire on the spool is too long, the bulb will not light up at all.
Q:I removed my range hood (switched off the electricity for it first) and there are three wires coming out of the wall. There's a white insulated, black insulated, and totally not insulated copper wire. What is the non-insulated copper wire? When I flip the electricity on, will it have a charge? It was weirdly wrapped around a screw in the box with the wiring...I'm not sure if it was doing anything. Thanks!
The copper wire is for ground. If there's a short, it is supposed to send the electricity into metal that leads into the soil. When you flip the switch, no charge should be in the copper wire... unless there is a short. Screw the weirdly-wrapped screw into something metal. If you have a metal utility box, screw it onto that, and you're range will be safe if there is a short.
Q:The outlet box has 2 black wires capped together, 2 white wires capped together, 2 bare wires capped together, and a single red wire. The light fixture I want to install is a two bulb fixture that has 2 black wires, 2 white wires, and 1 bare wire.
The wires on your ceiling fixture are called ROMEX. This is the big casing that has two insulated wires and one bare wire. The bare wire is the ground. The romex coming into the box comes from the source and the other comes from the switch. Black is HOT coming into the box from the Romex that has only the black and white wires. To be sure about this, take the cover off the switch on the wall and see what wires are present there. This might show that a three way switch is installed somewhere if there is two switches that control that light. As far as the light fixture that you have, connect the two white wires and the two black wires together and then one of those pair goes to the white wires in the ceiling box and the other goes to the red wire.
Q:Okay so I just finished replacing a stolen car radio, but I think I messed up the wiring... When I turn off the car the radio doesn't seem to save the presets I had... it resets the whole stereo... I think it has something to do with the wiring I did... When I installed the radio there were two 12+ volt wires... One said 12+ volt constant and was yellow, and the other said 12+ volt switch and was pink... Problem was when I wired only the yellow one the car stereo wouldn't work, so I tried the pink one and that didn't work.. SO thinking I was clever I wired both to the 12+ volt and VOILA the radio turned on... Problem is I don't think that's how I was supposed to wire it... I have a '97 Honda accord Ex and I don't know if that's what I was supposed to do... :#92;
yes you wired it wrong. If you were hooking these wires up directly to the car wires, then you could have shorted something out or caused further damage to the vehicle electrical system. If you were using a wiring harness, which i highly recommend, then you need to make sure the radio has ground switched and constant power. If it doesn't have one of these three, it will NOT turn on. Now i'd have to look at exactly how you hooked up the wires to see what went wrong. like i said if you didnt use a wiring harness there is a good chance you could have blown a fuse or screwed something else up. When not using a wiring harness the wires do not match color to color.
Q:why use a large gauge spark plug wires
Because of the High tension electricity that is produced
Q:I have a universal 02 sensor 4 wire (black, black, white and blue) the stock is white black and grey how do I wire it? thanks :)
Keep in mind the sensor has a signal wire, a ground wire and a heater wire (or wires). Good luck!
Q:Why is the current limiting circuit used to measure the resistance of wire by voltammetry?
Because the resistance of wire is very small, almost zero. According to the current, equal to the voltage divided by the resistor, it is known that the resistance is almost an hour and the current is close to infinity. This will burn out the power supply, so the current limiting method must be used
Q:How doI wire a ceiling chain light to wall switch? I want to stop using the chain to turn the light on and off. I hane already installed the wall switch and the wiring in the box but not sure how to connect the wiring in the box to the ceiling light wiring.
I want to ask the same question as the person above.
