you will find the car will respond better. You should car the sparkplugs once a year. The wires maybe every ten years or until they are not working.

Either way green is ground, white is common, red is live and black is live. It is technically irrelevant which is which but black and red are one each for the fan and optional light. If black has a wire nut on it leave it that way it is for the optional light.

Q:Trying to wire up a toogle swithch for boat light. What wire go were?
Like so: Battery (+) to inline fuse holder (within 6 inches of the battery). Fuse holder to switch. Switch to light. Light to battery (-). If you don't know what amp fuse you need, 3 amps should be more than enough in most cases. Please, please, please don't leave out the fuse -- boat wiring is subjected to a lot more shock, vibration than household or automotive. If the insulation gets chafed off the wires (more common than you might think) you can get a direct short to ground, which *will* get hot enough to start a fire. You really don't want to be dealing with a fire on your boat. Sounds like your switch is faulty. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ just read kilo's answer -- that's an interesting way to use a DPST switch. It'll certainly work, but seems a bit redundant to me. I just thought they were handy for switching two devices with separate 12V feeds (I used one for my helm lighting, with the tach being powered from the keyswitch accessory post, so it only lights up when the key's on). but he makes a good point; if your switch has 4 contact points (instead of just 2), make sure you use 2 on one side or the other (rather than the top 2 or bottom 2).

A car stero needs 3 main wires Constant Power (Normally Yellow) for memory like radio presets Switched Power (Normally Red) Switched by the cars ignition so your radio turns on/off with your keys You can wire these two together as long as its a constant feed, youll just have to turn it off yourself... but then it will work when the ignition is off as well that way and Earth (Normally black) The rest of the wires if you pay attention you can pair them up to form the front speakers and rear speakers, it looks to me like... this is going to take sometime to get my head around ill edit it ounce ive worked it out... Either way youv got your red and black there thats positive and negative, it will turn on with those. How many speakers in the car, and are they orginal, I asume all wires have an open end? the four black and white ones sound like someones added them, and put non orginal speakers in.

It's purely for flexibility. Solid wire would be just as effective, but it's about impossible to route through a car. In response to Rolo's answer -- Skin effect is a high frequency AC phenomenon - not an issue with DC, or any frequency in the audible spectrum for that matter. High strand count in car audio wire is purely for flexibility.

Q:How does one determine the load wires from line wires when there are multiple wires running to an outlet box?
if you have three romex wires coming to the box (which isn't uncommon) then each has a white, black, and bare copper ground. if you have 4 concuctor wires then there will also be a red wire too, 4 conductor wires are used to run to ceiling lights so you can use one wire but feed 2 switches like separate control for ceiling fan and light or vent fan and light for bathrooms. to determine the line vs load wires you need to take note of how everything is connected and write it down, then disconnect the wires and use a volt meter to see which black wires have power. once you do this follow it back to where you see the outer sheeting covering all three wires (white, black, and bare copper ground) in that romex wire and this is your power supply in. the rest are your load wires. as noted you should have some electrical experience to be doing this because if things aren't connected correctly it can be a fire hazard. in your case if all you are doing is swapping out a regular outlet for a gfi then its easy because all white and copper wires are common connections and connected to each other so just connect your GFI as the other outlet was connected with black as your load side and connect the ground wire to it. if you are trying to put in a gfi to also protect the rest of the outlets on that line then determine the black that has power and that goes to your load side and the rest of the blacks are fed from the load side terminal controlled through the breaker
Q:sub wiring and amp wiring?
no wat i would do is wire 1 speaker to 1 port and wire the other speaker to the other pot thats if it is a 2 chanel amp... cause if not u will be pulling to much from 1 side and the speakers wont sound right..... u need to turn down the amp to at first and then bring up the bass gradually to make sure the speakers can handle it..... u also have the choice to bride the amp but thats it the spakers can handle the power... all u have to do is hook up positive then negative to 1 speaker the hook up positive then negative to a diffrent speaker but it has to be from a diff channel...... but if ur going to bridge the speakers then u go positive from 1 port to the negative to the negative of the other port this will give u alot more power to ur speakers.... thats why i recomend u hooking them up regular at first........... u also have to make sure ur gornd is like a foot long or less.... the shorter the ground the more the bass

It okorder.com/... What you now have is stranded wire that has been tinned on one end. A tinned wire is one that has been soldered to keep the strands together and make for a stronger connection. If the wire must be flexible then replace with stranded wire. Solid wire will be easier for you to work with but not will not work as well if the wire moves a lot. Additional Yes you could solder the wires if there is enough to hook to. The size wire I think you are talking about can be soldered with about any small soldering iron and resin core solder. You might even slip a piece of heat shrink tubing over the wire before you solder the wire. After making the connection you can slide the heat shrink tubing in place, heat the tube to insulate the connection.
