Q:I am looking at putting the self stick vinyl tiles in my new addition. It has a concrete floor and I was wondering if the vinyl will have a hard time sticking to the concrete. Do I need some type of sub-floor? I am wondering this mainly because we live in iowa were is can get pretty cold in the winter and I didn‘t know if that would affect the stickyness.
I think your bigger problem would be moisture. If this is in a basement there's a good chance that moisture could seep beneath the tiles and make the glue separate. A subfloor will significantly add to the cost, but it would keep the basement warmer, and lessen the chance of damage to the tiles. Be sure you build the subfloor out of treated wood though, or you could have rot/termites/many more problems.
Q:No more tiles on the table, you‘re behind on points but can place your last tile while opponent still has tiles they can‘t place. Thanks!

Q:The house has been living for two years, these days do not know the weather is wet or how the matter, the bathroom tile actually fell a few pieces, but fortunately did not break. Now want to paste it back, I would like to ask, how to paste? With cement? Or what other glue? Do you want to drink again before There is also a problem with the brick at that time, but the closure or other problems? Another: Tiles are Mona Lisa. Thank you!
If you want to use the same as the original, it is necessary to use cement mortar paving, they can also use glass glue, but because the glass glue is basically stick a few points, so there will be hollow drums, water will go into the water, Hook the agent is also very necessary Oh.
Q:Does the tiles have radiation?
The tile surface has a glazed surface. With a certain degree of radiation. Tiles appear on the market are generally very small radiation. Radiation is big for some marble and artificial stone
Q:how do you clean up ceramic tiles? they dont seem to shine but look very dull whenever i clean it with water and soap. is there a product i can use to clean them and at the same time leave them shining?
most all tile manufactures will tell u to clean tile with just a damp mob and warm water. it would really help if u had soft water.
Q:I am trying to decide between installing hardwood or tile floors in my kitchen remodel. Any thoughts on pros and cons of each? Thanks.
Wood.. Tile is so inconvenient. Tile is so hard to clean. Because it has those cracks inbetween each square. Go with wood.
Q:If you were going to tile an entire room would you start from the walls or floor? The room is only small 12m walls 4m floor is a basic toilet basin. There are no border tiles no fllor to wall tiles.
To be honest with you it does not matter if you do the floor or walls first. Some people prefer not to do the floor first as they will make a mess of the floor when doing the walls and it will take additional time to cover or clean the floor. And NO you do not always start in the center. In some cases starting in the center will cause you to have very small cut tiles on the edges. You should measure and find the center and dry test tiles with the 1st tile centered in the room checking to find the cut size of the tiles on the outside end. You should never have a tile less than 1/2 on the end. Example a 1 or 2 cut tile is a mistake if the tiles are 6 or larger. If the tile is less than 1/2 its size then start with the 1st tile on the edge of the center line. Always keep the same size cuts on both sides and never end up with small pieces.
Q:We have small ceramic tiles on our bathroom floor. They are varied in shape and size (see photo).I think that these tiles originally came with some sort of netting on the back when they laid the floor and they added grout? I believe I saw some extra tiling somewhere in our home and this is what I had found.Anyway, the grout is breaking up between some of the tiles and some of the tiles keep popping out. I have two questions, If I regrout them do I put it on the bottom of the tile too and does that make the tile adhere to the floor? How would I get the grout to match what‘s already there, it‘s a medium brown gray. Not sure if it started out that way or became like that over the years. Would it look funny if the grout didn‘t match? How could I get it to match?
The plastic mesh was there to make it easy to set a lot of small tiles as it they were one big tile. If a tile is loose, you have to chip out all the old adhesive on the floor and on the back of the tile (or use a replacement tile if you have some) and use fresh adhesive. This is not the same as grout. The two common tile adhesives are called mastic and thinset. For small repairs, I'd go with the mastic. You do the best you can to match the color. You can get a color palette at any home store, bring it home and pick the closest match. You should probably try to clean some of the grout as best you can with bathroom cleaners and bleach to see what the original color was.
Q:Tile setters? I paid someone to tile my bathroom floor using the 1 in hex tiles meshed together in 12 x 12 in pieces. Ive seen that type of tile done before and it each tile looks evenly spaced. The tiles he installed for me look like they were installed in 12 x 12 pieces as the perimeter of the meshed tiles has much wider grout lines than the interior. He says its normal and it happened because the floor is uneven but he installed the hardybacker himself so he should have leveled it.
Plain and simple, the guy did not do a good job. It's rare for anyone to install tiles perfect, if you look at any tile job, and I don't care who did it, you are going to find imperfections, but thats just it, you have to look for them. To just casually look, you should see no problems at all. If you can live with it, get discount on the job your happy with if you hate it, have him rip them up and replace them at his expense If you can afford it and hate them. hire someone else to redo the floor and take the first guy to court in an attempt to recoup your money..if he couldn't do right the first time , I doubt he'll be able to do right if given a second chance.
